Ok, I have some Akasa Ambers in my PC7 at the moment they are a year old, running at 12v and they are noisey. I'm not all that fussed as I'm getting a new case and the PC7 will have my 2nd system in it, which is basically just a download box, so I can use the fancontrollers I have to drop the speeds and noise.

This leaves me with my new case, it's a LL and I want quiet fans, stock ones are not, we all know this, so what is there that isn't too expensive that's quiet and pushes good cfm? I'll be needing 120mms and an 80mm.

The Yate Loon D12SL-12 is by far your best bet. They're dirt cheap and are utterly silent at 7V (check the sticky for info on performing 7V mod). You wouldn't even need the fan controller. :)

Get the sexeh black and orange ones!

Well in the new case I won't have a controller, certainly not for all of the fans, so I may just have to VM them. The Ambers are staying on controllers as it's a system that doesn't heat up too much anyway, just is in a really small box currently, so some airflow, even really low rpms will help it. :)

The only problem with the VM in the sticky is that I don't like 4pin molexs, they take up loads of space and I like to cable tidy. Ideally I'd like to put a resistor either in the fan's wires, or get a small extension 3pin - 3pin cable and put a resistor in that.
The only similar thing I've found is a 12v - 9.5v 3pin - 3pin cable.
