US shoppers killed in gun rampage

As I have said to many friends until they ban or heavily restrict gun ownership then this will continue to happen in America. Just different body counts and locations :(

Sad day, RIP victims, your country failed you!

How many times does this crap have to happen before america gets serious about gun control.

What a needless tragedy.
As I understand it there isnt a huge amount that can be done without changing the constitution. Second Amendment is a bit vague as I understand it (and that is not very well lol).

My sympathies to all those affected.

I like our laws on gun control :)

Lets hope we don't get like America

Just restrict guns to legitimate uses eg. registered and trained hunters etc.

Other than a select few situations, theres no need for a civillian to have access to a firearm.

Its nothing to do with Gun Control... There are still stabbings etc. I agree, Guns are really bad, But its the people that pull the trigger, not the guns themselves that kill the people. R.I.P

No doubt the cold blooded Charlton Heston has already jumped into damage limitation mode and blaming the fact that all the shoppers weren't packing 'automatic tank busters' or something equally absurd: rolleyes:

As the great Eddie Izzard said the gun certainly helps! Someone standing their going 'Bang' 'Bang' as loud as they can doesn't seem to have the same effect

Eddie: Legend.

I know what you mean, but still... a gun on a table doesn't kill people on its own accord... :S

Canada has a much higher percentage of gun ownership, so it seems to me that the amount of weaponry available or its legality does not correlate with the incidents.

But if someone had a knife I bet they could have been taken down before killing that many people, and if I was unarmed and facing off against someone with either a knife or a gun I know what I'd rather do.

Guns themselves aren't the problem per se, its the people who choose to use weapons to maim others. But guns facilitate the crimes and make the toll far greater.

Again another misleading myth dribbled out by the pro gun group, the vast number of these Canadian guns are rifles as everyone has to do militry duty their. If you look at the stats handgun ownership in canada is low compared to America. That said American culture does play a part imho.

If you look at the stats for gun deaths between countries that allow guns and those that don't like the U.K it clearly indicates the obvious which is less guns = less deaths caused by guns.

Also a lot of deaths are caused by accidents or children getting hold of guns, if guns were banned like in the U.K this would be seriously limited. It's very easy for someone to accidently shoot someone to death the same cannot be said for say accidently stabbing someone too death!!

Exactly. If someone wants to kill people they will, whether by gun, knife, bomb or other it will happen.

It's very sad that people were killed in this incident, rip and thinking of them and their families.

A very sad crime. :(

That said, perhaps if everyone was allowed to carry a gun, nutjobs like that wouldn't stand a chance. Then again, there are people in the world that shouldn't be in charge of themselves let alone a weapon.

Arm everyone or arm no one, there can be no in between.
