Still need brake pads..

So why have you bought some sort of old man's motorway muncher type car then

And EXACTLY how many duplicate threads asking the same thing do you need to start?

Stop crapping on Fox's threads. You are trolling. Consider this a warning.

Next time you do it you will be suspended.

I havent heard good things about green stuff pads. Apparently they give off a lot of brake dust and brake fade can be felt quiet easily. I can't remember where i read this though and im sure a lot of people out there are pleased with theyre green stuff pads.

For the milage you do i wouldnt fork out for the greenstuff pads

I think you'd be better asking on a BMW forum. Brake pads seem to vary from car to car. For example, lots of people here recommending EBC, yet for scoobs, the Pagids are far better rated.

Just go for the OEM EBC, will no doubt offer very very similar performance to the BMW OEM to the point you'd be pushed to notice it IMO.

Theres no such thing as OEM EBC, I dont think they make original equipment brake pads for any of the major car makers.

Yea, buy some EBC so you experience the enjoyable 'friction material separating from metal backing' effect!

Really livens up the driving experience!

(I'd be inclined to go with OEM myself, unless there's a reason to avoid them :))

He does the same to me.

Not really, no. I've done it ONCE to you when I posted in a single one of your threads about saying you'll turn up to a meet and subsequently not bothering. The other times - even the 323i v 328i thing - were on topic. tbh I'm not arsed but a glance over your last 50 posts shows few of any real merit - try and water them down with some useful stuff and it'll not get peoples backs up so much :p

And I'm not part of Scuzis 'clique'. I've met the bloke once, several years ago.

Try interspersing your sarcastic retorts with a bit of advice now and again and people might not notice :p

All I will say is that after a spell of rubbish driving yesterday, the green stuffs saved me a lot of bother.

I was in a post-work-commute-home daze in horrendous weather and didnt see cars stopping ahead due to an accident. Cue 70-0 emergency braking in a very short period of time , in wet weather with no fade at all, consistent bite, in wet weather. Not sure how much, if any the grooved pads helped, but I stopped very well indeed, on tyres I personally don't rate.

Glad I had a Porsche behind me too.

EBC are not the best IMO

Have you looked at Textar...? They are usually OE for BMW's.

Best place to look is Euro Car Parts or German and Swedish Car Parts...

You do 5 mile trips and 50 miles a week.
For one i wouldn't get any performance pads as they won't warm up quick enough to be effective during that kind of mileage. Also as you are well known for driving Eco style then i would think you could stop your car quite easily just by opening the two front doors and using the drag. Would save you even more money.
My suggestion would be get the cheapest you can find as i wouldn't have thought your driving style would need anything more.

Agreed, but they are not the worst either and on mine they are much better than stock.

A lot of my friends rave about mintex pads but looking at the price point, I think the green stuffs were 40 odd quid for the front sets whereas I think the mintex ones were over a ton.

On the rover i used to own i had ebc green stuff pads and i can only say good things about them, completely different to the oem ones on there before ( i can understand that bmw oem's will probably be of a higher quality then the rover ones though!) braking performance was far better what ever the weather, and didn't experiance brake fade on places i used to...and the bonus of minimal brake dust aswell... so thats my 2 cents

no mintex extreme on the list even though about 6 people reccomended them last time? They don't make noise, are brilliant from cold, even better when warm and have average brake dust production....and cheaper than greenstuff despite everyone rating them as a fair bit better (they are the replacement for the M1144 mintex pads

I use greenstuffs - they're quite and are pretty low dust production. I do about 280 miles a week. That's an MX5, though - as has been said, it probably varies from car to car

Where do I crap your threads? I'm a reasonable person and more than happy to apologise to you.

I cant even remember any of your threads as you dont post many, last one I can remember you posting was about changing your 323i to a 320d where I offered advice.
