My computer just randomly shut down for the second time.

Is there any way of finding out why? I noticed the computer started running a little slower and then shut down

its an abit ip35e
2 gig ram
core duo processor
windows xp sp2

it may be overheating, is there a software that allows you to check temps?

You can use coretemp or Intel Tat to monitor your temps, or simply boot into the bios and there should be a page that lists the temps and voltages, leave it sitting on that page for a while and see how high it gets.

yes, very high. It sounds like a temps issue. Are you sure your CPU fan is still spinning? You could also try reseating the HSF

gone up to 125 now and the computer has slowed down a little, strange...

any ideas what it could be?

lol, ok
Bro didnt clip the CPU fan on properly
t case is 85
and the other core 1 and 2 are at 25

I should edit the spelling mistake in your first post before a passing Mod gets grumpy.

Glad to hear the problem is solved though!

PK!
