HI there

We've been pushing to get this kind of deal now for the last couple of weeks to give people a viable alternative to the short supply of 8800 GT and forth coming 8800 GTS.

The GTX has GT beating performance especially at higher resolutions, at higher resolutions the GTX should also remain dominant over the new upcoming 8800 GTS.

The difference is now OcUK is bringing you the GTX for well below GTX prices.

At the moment I have 2900xt which I am begining to dislike (don't ask) I game on the Dell 2405 which matched to this sounds good, at that price.

Little thinking is in order.

Rob

Superb price.

Horrible timing though, don't think the 8800 GTS NDA lifts until Monday and this deal will be over then. Bah! Take a chance on this and hope the GTS isn't around £200 or leave it and hope it's not around the same price... choices!

Wow, I can remember when these were £400 odd quid when they first came out!

Great price for a GTX.

Wish I had an extra £40 and I'd actually buy it, unfortunately I don't... it almost feels like I've got the options of paying £40 extra for a guaranteed graphics card, or paying just £200 and waiting in anticipation for an un-known amount of time.

Sigh.

I would ahve thougth the prices will stay low when the GTS comes out. if the GTX is to high no one will buy them, i cant see the gtxs of 270+ selling now.

Hi there

They are selling fine and still in very large quantities. Most of our competitors are still £300+VAT for a GTX as its still classed as the high-end product.

We've just pushed for a deal that allows us to sell GTX at close to GT prices. :)

They are indeed good prices. The next closest is still nearly 30 quid away and thats their own brand also.

But once the GTS comes out i cant see the price going back up. I know you obiously dont awnt to say that as your sellign them lol. But the GTS is beign shown to be beaten by a GT in crysis. The benchmarks people are baising their decisons on are not reflective of its true performance, if so then nvidia really screwed up.

id expect that within the next month more optimized drivers will be showing bigger gains and most probably neck and neck or a slight overtake on the lower reserlutions on the GTX.

Thats why i just cant see the GTXs selling. Specialy those at like 300+quid

Note Gibbo says this GTX deal is as cheap as the forthcoming GTS 512 so we can infer fairly positively that the GTS will not be £200 - more like £250.

you sure ?

if it was going to be 250 why would they sell a faster GTX cheaper ?

more likely that it will be cheaper than the GTX hence the new price of the GTX

doesn't make this GTX a bad buy - actually quite the opposite

quite a bit better performance than GT or GTS for not much more :)

Only Gibbo knows what the prices on the GTSs will be come Monday and he's just said:
and as cheap as the forth coming 8800 GTS
If the GTS was going to be £200 then he couldn't say this was going to be as cheap as them, could he?

Basically, everyone dreaming about £200 GTSs - forget it, not going to happen, at least initially.

I thought you were sure, since you hinted at been privey to inside information on pricing via another thread regarding G92 GTS, hmm. ;) Still, 3 days and all shall know the truth...
