Vista SP1 RC Download links.

One thing that puzzles me about the links. Why is one file entitled wave0 and the other just above this post is wave1? Also the file sizes are different?

I would only ever download updates and sp's direct from ms tbh.

Wave0 - English only version.

Wave1 - The All-Language standalone package supports installations on all versions of Windows Vista with one or a combination of the 36 Windows Vista languages installed.

I should have said, The 5-Language standalone package supports installations on all versions of Windows Vista with one or a combination of the following languages installed: English, German, Japanese, French, Spanish.

Ah cheers for that ive already downloaded the wave0 so no need for wave1 then since I dont install the language packs

i lost all sound with the beta, only loud system noises where the proper sound should be and had to uninstall, think it was more of a problem with ropey xfi drivers than the sp though..

Takes me about 2mins to transfer 10.5gb from one drive to another is this about right?

Dam i am soooooo installed this SP1 with vista x64 with a XFI Elite Pro = no sound crap Creative drivers

have you 2 tried re-installing the xfi drivers on top of SP1 RC

Thats probably what you'd get with XP, if not slightly faster.

Vista looks like it just got a whole lot better.

To be fair the latest xfi drivers have been acceptable & SP1 is still beta.

Well, I'm going to try it, had the most annoying problem with my premium oem 64bit version lately.

I cant even seem to uninstall software without it saying "An unauthorised change has been made to windows" "Your license has changed" etc etc on reboot, it then directs me to the validate page and tells me its not genuine (which it most deffinately is!).

It keeps doing it over and over, not enabling me to get into windows untill on a random reboot it finally lets me input my key again and all is peachy..................hope this fixes it, I'm scared to install or uninstall anything at the moment!

hey anybody else running notice there is no longer a search link on the right hand side of the start menu? i've looked all through the options and i can't get it back?

I keep getting blue screen of death and I cant open my control panel. The window tries to open and instantly closes again. Also I cant bring up computer preferences by right clicking on my computer.

When I can find out how to, I will be uninstalling SP1
