Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

lol, just saw this

News broke yesterday that Weekly Famitsu had given GT5: Prologue – which is due to be released in its native Japan tomorrow – a highly impressive score of 39/40.

However, it now seems these claims were actually a load of porky pies, with Famitsu itself having not reviewed the game at all.

The source of the score appears to be an individual who wished to fool users on the popular NeoGAF forums by making up a load of review scores and news and trying to claim that it was the contents of this week’s issue of Famitsu.

As is the way with such things, however, the rest of the internet got hold of the story and ran with it before checking whether it was accurate or not. And as it transpired, it wasn’t.

Gutted they dont have a single Porsche /RUF ( I mean how many Nissan's do we need -are they all virtually the same car/model, 4 Skyline's -2 GT's - a bit disappointing)

I know the list has been known for a while, doesnt stop me being just as disappointed though :(

Oh dear i had 3 hours sleep, work is going to be fun today....

Will try to answer some of the questions later. Im also off tomorrow so might get around to doing a pictorial/close examination of the game, pinpointing issues i have with it and showing how spectacular it also looks at times.

Its kinda like FM2 in that respect sometimes it looks amazing but then comes the jaggies and weird hazzy digital mess that appears on replays.
Sorry that im concentrating on the graphics at the moment but this is very much a graphics orientated game (always has been). Very few people that get GT games actually finish them, they just want to experience them and play them enough till their bored with it.

Want to comment more on the game when ive played it more....

Maybe they are saving them for DLC and we will have to pay for car packs

I doubt there will be any paid content available for GT5: Prologue, although I expect it for the full game.

I am hoping the xmas day online mode that gets added, may add some other stuff for free though.

I know but it doesn't stop them cashing in on it even more I mean bottom line we are paying for a glorified demo as you say :)

It's not a new thing. GT3 had it's concept games (regionalised) before the final release and GT4 had a prologue as well. People lapped them up then, they will do the same this time. To me it's a testament to how good/successful the game series is that people will buy this.

Yes but last time the infrastructre wasn't in place for them to do DLC such as a car pack, this time it is.

GT5 Prologue is not the full game - it's a glorified demo.

wrong.

Its got much more content than a demo, it gives you a taste of whats to come. Also nobody forces you to buy it however calling it a glorified demo on your part is not accurate but mere speculation. Im sure rp2000, myself and other will criticise the game and keep you posted, were not willing waving or PS3 fanboys. moaning about cars that are not and might not even be in the final game is hardly game destroying or ruins its appeal for racing fans. As for Lamobs most of them are easily beaten by other same class super cars, as PGR has shown in the past.

Sure were happy to get it, weve waited along time for it...

Wind your neck in. I'm buying this myself when it becomes officially available to us in the UK - I'm not knocking it but I think a glorified demo is quite an accurate description for it.
