wins for me, took on the Mighty Luftwaffe and won.
I'd say this, a self contained city for all intents and purposes and enough firepower to scare a small country.

The V2 changed the very nature of warfare, and ushered in the era of rockets and missiles- culminating in the ICBM. Without such hardware, you have to rely on bomber aircraft to get your package to its destination. This is not a problem in itself, but a big heavy sub sonic lump like a B-52 is pretty vulnerable to fighters and surface-to-air missiles. The ICBM can more or less guarantee that your warhead will reach its target, no need to worry about losing pilots/aircraft.
So long as other missiles don't shoot it down![]()
It's quite a challenge to destroy a target travelling at mach 18, with any degree of reliability.

It reaches speeds of up to Mach 4 and has an effective range of 50-55 km (31-34 miles) depending upon the version. It carries a 135 kg (300 lb) warhead. Possible engagement altitudes range from 100 m-27 km (330-88,500 feet).
Picture is so big!

Hehe. Which is partially why the SA-4 (despite being 'outdated') can be dangerous.
oops, didn't realise you were talking about the blackbirdYes really, not one was shot down. Many were shot at, but doing 2000mph at 80,000ft, by the time you have seen it, loaded and fired, its 20 miles away and possibly in a different time zone. Even today, it could still get to places quicker than the authorities can move a military satellite
