Presents/Food/Decorations/Other?

How much have you tolled up this year?

Last year i went a bit cray, spent a whole months wages on gifts, trinkets and things people didn't even need/want.

This year has seen a different approach, keeping an eye out for things people need or hint that they want, and being a bit more logical about it.

Compared to last year, where i spent in excess of £1k, this year i've calmed down a lot, and probably spent £300-£400 tops...

How about you?

Phil

Nothing as yet, i dont have a lot of people to buy for really. I dont exchange gifts with friends, so its just parents and family.

Food bill will be less than normal, as i will be going to my parents for christmas.

Hmm. Around 200 I think. Maybe a bit more.

Unless you count 'self presents', in which case I've spent around £180k. ;)

I spent anout £510 on my wife: a dvd box set, a memory card for her phone and an LG Veiwty :)
I also spent £7750 on a new car for myself HEHE

Troll/Scrooge, you decide :)
Neither.

I would have bought this bottle of whisky for my brother at any time of the year, I owe him a great deal and I know its something he'll love. As for the rest, it's just token stuff to remind my family I love them, which last year I did with a phone call on Christmas day. I usually spend nothing or very little. Each to their own.

Think about £300 and have 5 left to buy. Am constantly tempted to buy more for people but I then remember what my bank balance is.

Some people are like that.

I wouldn't be buying as much as i did if i knew people weren't doing the same to me. Treat how you wish to be treated, and thats not in the sense that if you don't give presents you won't recieve, its about making people happy IMHO.

I don't buy gifts for the sake of it, i love to see that a few quid here and there can give someone the biggest smile ever.

Don't you just hate Xmas cards... what a waste of time/money/effort/paper.

Sometimes its nice to hear from an old relative, but I mean my mum will write me one, bring it upstairs and make me open it, then that's it... done. What a waste!

If it was up to me, I wouldn't send any cards at all. But society likes the idea, so it is considered against morals not to send them. :(
