Inter Milan football strip 'offends Muslims'

"While I was watching the game I felt profound grief in my soul."

Has it been proven that we have a "soul"? Otherwise he stop wasting legal time and find himself a paying job, rather than jumping on the bandwagon.

Random Guy, they have NO right to try to tell ANYONE from other countries that something is offensive to them and that they should stop.

In their own country, absolutely fine.

This really annoys me.

So if a German team decided to wear a strip with what was a blatently a Nazi symbol while playing somebody in England would that not make you raise an eyebrow at least?

Sorry to **** stir, I'm er, bored.

Of anyone likely to do it, I think the Germans would be the least ;).

Sorry I'm nit-picking, I'm..bored :p.

I think its unfair to generalize both by this guy and by people on here. Both him and the thread in here are wrong. The shirt offends him, not muslims, a muslim. I think its stupid that when one muslim, or 10 muslims or even a thousand muslims are outraged about something, everyone starts goin on about "them" and assume that because these 1000, less than 0.000001% of all the Muslims in the world, are all equally unreasonably outraged and therefore, wrong.

I think muslims in general are the most stereotyped group still around today.

Funny. Viewed the news article and there was an advert for the British Red Cross right beside the picture.

Mostly in the East due to Eastern Germany struggling after re-unification iirc. As for this story, seems like a lawyer trying to make a name for himself rather than representing the feelings of muslims. Tbh the vast majority of these stories come from overzealous white people eager not to offend muslims or a tiny nutjob proportion of the muslim community. Shame it tars the majority of sensible muslims with this image :(

There's a lot of neo's over there though, though of course they won't represent all the people of their country though..

As far as I recall, Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany unless in certain circumstances which is why it is unlikely that a German team would wear one. I suspect that is the point Platypus was driving at but he may want to correct me here. :)

As to the original story, I love the idea that the game should be replayed. Can I ask for a replay in every game Hearts lose because the owner is a plank?

When will it stop? We won't be able to breathe without offending them at this rate. :o

Heard something really funny before, if a man drops a table he is carrying when a journalist is near the journalist thinks nothing of it. If a man with a beard and a hat does it you'd be sure to hear about it in the news.

Whats with "them", can't you see it is one guy who has realised it is a money making opportunity just like we have people trying to claim damages in car accidents where they are perfectly fine, claiming through employment tribunals when the employee is in the wrong, etc.

Stop branding "them" by petty news like this.

Thread title should read:

"Inter Milan football strip 'offends a Muslim'"

I find it strange on this forum that all Muslims are branded as having extremist views when it is only a few nutters, who in general, are expressing strange views and are in fact, only in it for themselves.

Take this Turkish lawyer for instance - he is seeking damages. This is most un Muslim like. If he is a true believer and what he believes in is true, on the 'Day of Judgement', he will have to explain is actions and motives to God. And the best part is that he wont be able to lie his way out of it as it wont work on God. It doesnt get much worse than using religeon for financial gain.

Don't automatically think that nutters like this represent the attitudes/opinions of the majority of Muslims. Some people on this forum truly amaze me.

It goes on...

We'd best buy all our women burka's ready they'll not be allowed to show their legs in public at this rate.

First off, that was instigated by a single UK post office employee. If the girl went to Iran for instance and an Iranian official kicked up a fuss, it would hold more weight. However, this was done by a single UK employee. The post office has since apologised for using a such a silly excuse.

With regards to buying your women burke: if you are not a Muslim, you do not need to wear a burka or cover up any part of your body. If however, you would like all "your women" to convert to Islam, then by all means, by as many burkas as you want.

Its quite shocking that people actually believe the actions of 1 post office employee represent the beliefs/opinions of every Muslim on this Earth.
