We've all had to knit at some point in our lives (yeah, you did), and I know we've got quite a broadminded public on OcUK so I thought I'd see what you all think of this. I got a link in my delicious popular feed the other day about this kickass scarf (which is currently being made for me, by the way), and it's made by a guy. and not only does this 1 guy knit, there's loads of them - he links to a pretty large network of guys who knit and I instantly thought that this was quite cool. I like knitwear anyway, and I think it'd be cool to make some stuff.

So yeah, would any of you incredibly macho types knit?

I'd give it a go, could see the appeal of knitting my own scarfs et al. Saying that I also like lawn bowls so my opinion is probably void.

So many closed minded people on these forums:(

Even if i dont knit i still think you all have closed minds:(

that's partly the reason I posted it - it's funny to watch all the repressed people call things that are unfamiliar 'gay'. I am, of course, excluding Gilly from this - it's not his fault he's the most manly person who ever lived

I like to think I'm quite good at knitting, mind you I haven't had a go at it for a few years, it's rather relaxing but I get bored of it after about half a scarf and never finish them!

Pfft, it's only a bit of a joke around. This is ocuk gd afterall, how many blokes were you expecting to admit to knitting!

I can remember being in one of the 'naughty boys' classes in school, must have been late '70s and the old witch who was put in charge of us forced us all to knit! It was soon abandoned though when we had far more fun throwing the balls of wool at each other and stabbing each other with the huge plastic needles and she took the gear off us before someone lost an eye or something :D That was my first and only foray into the world of knitting.

I can't sew a button on trousers very well. So I think i'd be pretty crap at knitting, oh and it is a tad metro

Edit: I can honestly say I've never ever tried knitting
