ta haven't tried ati tool with these cards yet.
just saw this on XS ...voltage through ati tool for 3xxx series soon

think i might order some mcw60's for these bad boysand run a 2nd loop.
That is indeed what we are waiting onAfter xmas I'm gonna pick up a SECOND card and then slap to DuOrbs on them! Hopefully after a bit of voltmodding these cards will hit some really healthy core speeds. I see someone over in the xtreme forums hit a core of 958Mhz with his VMod
Easy if crossfire is supported well it will indeed be a decent bit faster however im pretty sure AA will probably still kill the cards in game! But maybe request some benchies from the crossfire guys like paradigm!![]()
What do you get if you run the same, but with DX10 ?
Matthew
Will do in a bit.
I just did my first successful pencil vmod.
Stock resistance on the one resistor was 2.66....brought it down to 2.41 but my PCB is a bit different than from the reference pic I was using for the vgpu mod and don't know where to measure the vgpu. Hopefully I'm not roasting it?
Anyway so far it's stable @ 891/1080 ....temps don't go over 40c
I also have a question....I am using CCC to overclock and atitool to scan for artifacts. Ever since I unlocked overdrive I haven't been able to set my clocks with ATiTool....they just revert back to whatever I have set in CCC....and my CCC slider only goes to 900mhz.
1) Is there any way to extend the slider range in CCC?
2) How can I use ATITool to set my clocks again?
3) Look at my ATITool pic, the 2nd temp says 98c.....I'm pretty sure that's a bogus reading as most of the time it says 0c and as soon as the card is under load it goes to either 98c. Should I be worried? I assume it's just some messed up reading from lack of 38xx support?

Yes Careful, ATI tool will not control crossfire fans...that other card is cooking !!!
Wow, that's amazing! I thought the differences in power regulation components between the 3850 and 3870 would stop clocks getting that high...quick update
Managed to get my 3850 to 1012/2196 core/mem
I get this with my 3870 too. I think it is just a bogus reading of some kind; do the 38x0 cards even have a distinct temp sensor chip?3) Look at my ATITool pic, the 2nd temp says 98c.....I'm pretty sure that's a bogus reading as most of the time it says 0c and as soon as the card is under load it goes to either 98c.
