LOL WUT?!: Duke Nukem Forever Teaser Coming Tomorrow

Now we've seen the trailer, we've only got another few years to wait before the demo is released or some actual gameplay footage at least.

Trailers looking good, some of it did look ingame that flying head thing for instance. Only thing was the voice sounded slightly off or something.

The original guy who did the voice probably died in the time it took for the last duke game to come out to the release of that trailer

Well, it looking at the HD video it certainly looks better, looks like a mix of Doom3, FEAR but without better quality screens it's hard to tell.

The lighting looks great though.

Exactly what I was thinking. As long as it looks acceptable, has girls, guns, lots of baddies, Duke's one liners and more guns it can't fail.

Was no doubt that people would complain about the graphics, to me it looks pretty good. And probably won't require an unreleased video card to play it properly (hello crysis).

Or would people be happy with a game that was even more demanding than crysis? Just for the sake of complaining about how hard it is to run when it finally does hit.

Nope it's the same guy, I recognise the name. Not that it would surprise me if he did, it's been long enough:p

Im looking for some alien toilet to park my bricks, who's first

ahahah got to love duke quotes

was'nt impressed much by the trailer but did get me abit excited and the duke talking trash at the end put a really big smilke on my face and made me laugh :D

"The trailer features the work of longtime Duke voice actor Jon St. John as well as prolific game composers Jeremy and Julian Soule."

I remember Jeremy Soule did the music score for Secret of Evermore on the Super Nintendo.

Prey (by 3D realms also) used that engine, so it was a no-brainer, though it could be slightly/heavily/extremely modified :p
It does look pretty good, not the best, not the worst.

It's using a modified version of the Unreal engine, not the Doom 3 engine :p

Source ? :o :(
Makes no sense for the to make it on an entirely different engine  It would mean using a different editor, learning the new tools, new problems.......

Broussard has stated several times that the only parts of the Unreal engine that are still part of their code base are UnrealScript, the networking code, and the UnrealEd. Everything else (except Meqon, the physics engine) has been written from scratch by 3D Realms. The principal technical reason given by Broussard for the extensive delays was the unstable tech base. Once it was stabilized, 3D Realms expanded their team considerably, from 22 to 31 members.

On March 20, 2007, Scott Miller explained in an interview with YouGamers that they were still using the Unreal Engine, although what is probably a heavily modified version.

I see!

3DRealms co-developed Prey, Human Head were the main developers. You'll find 3DRealms saying over and over again that they're using the Unreal engine if you go through their forums, but I'm not going to do that right now with all this intermittent down-time! Also worth noting that they only made one engine change, from Quake to Unreal engine.

Be interesting to see how much (if any) of the ideas and themes from the 2001 trailer wrere kept for this game, the terminator style robot for instance.
