Mortal Kombat Killing

sick people who the forum rules prevent me describing in the correct words.

A World without Children, is a World without Hope......

OK I'm really fed up about hearing "oh lets blame the video games" excuses now! this is just sick! You would have to be really disturbed in the head to wrestle a 7 year old in a non playful manor.

1. Why did these kids have this game anyway? Mortal Kombat games are 18+
2. Why the hell was he drunk? He's only 17!

And its the parents who are the first to jump on the "its the video games, they polluted their minds" band wagon.

Maybe they should jump on the "I'm not a good parent, I really should bring my kids up better" band wagon.

If you read the thread that was created about a week ago, a lot of forum members here are of the opinion that it is OK for kids to play these games as "it never did them any harm". I blame parents 100% tbh. Sometimes games can be to blame (like anything else) sometimes they are a scapegoat for bad parents.

These drinking bans do naff all. If a teenager wants to drink, that ban isnt going to stop them, they will get it one way or another... Its very sad new and what an uttuer ****** he is.

Not Mortal Kombat killing, but drunk killing. There's several groups wanting a ban on fighting games now because to them, the kids were influenced by the game alone and of course, nothing to do with the fact they were drunk out of their faces. It's easier to take a swipe at video games instead of something that you know is just not going to even be debated.

Ugh, what a stretch they've made to link it to a videogame. Wrestling moves from wrestling... no, that's too accessible and mainstream... Can we link it to Manhunt? Hmm, no... how about Mortal Kombat? YES! Run that story.

Media assclowns who like to use the Video Game market as an easy tool for blaming crimes such as this. It's clear that it's most likely TV which isn't age rated than an 18-rated video game that's hardly a recent release.

Older siblings beat up their younger siblings.

My older brother used to beat the crap out of me when I was young, he saw it as playing, I didn't.

it happens with or without videogames, cept this **** was drunk off his ***, he probably thought he wasn't hurting her cause he was too drunk to realise.

Ugh, it makes me shudder just thinking about it, poor girl.

cant they blame something else like the parents rather than shifting it to a game. blaming games is more of a fad these days :/ street fighter has been out donkeys years, but no one as of yet has blamed that for street attacks/fights have they?

Horrid people.

Nowt to do with the game. Just stupid ******* drinking too much.

But Jack Thompson won't see it that way, he's got the idea in his head and he's too far gone on the subject to stop now.

Personally I think he's just trying to ride the public's vote in America by "touching" on "issues that affect children to curry favour among the bible belters over there. Anyone who stands to contest him just gets shouted down as someone who doesn't care for the welfare of children, or someone who doesn't have any morals.

Anyway, back O/T I want to know how they know it was Mortal Wombat specifically that the kids were playing. "Son, did you go Liu Kang on her or was it more a Scorpion style "Get over here" type assault?" Irrespective of game though, they should be focusing on the unsupervised drinking side of the case and not media-happy "video nasty" angle that obviously sells more papers and changes more channels.
