Zotac Waranty?

Sorry Ulfhedjinn. In hindsight my point were badly written and you quite rightly misunderstood my posts.

Hopefully water, bridge, etc etc.. :)

Anyway, back to the warranty. Ive been looking all over and I can find is variation of time from 1 year to 3 years for warranty, but no details on what Zotac actually offer. There isnt even anything on the Zotac website that details what they cover... ITs a pre OCed card so the warranty would stay in tack, as opposed to me buying a non OCed one and throwing the warranty out the window.

Could it be that they are cheap and fast because when they go pop your stuck on your own?
I think that would be illegal?

Some 'consumer law' brainbox was saying that the new european law states hardware must have a 24 month warranty minimum or something like that?

Zotac advised me - when I e-mailed that they provide a 2 yr warranty (but it's very limited it seems)
O'clockers provide a 3 yr warranty on the Amp edition which they sell which looks to be a good deal (better than anywhere else so far as I know).
Be careful where you buy from !!
Do what he did and email them for details...

Ive found 3 major hardware sites that all state a 12 month warranty from Zotac, so not sure this law exists, or exists yet.

The Zotac cards run at BGF OC2 speeds, yet in some places are up to £30 cheaper. It could be that they are cheap because the warranty on them is very poor.

I will take your advice and email them. Cheers

The reply I received from Zotac to my e-mail request

'Please advise warranty -terms and lengh - applicable to ZT-88TES2P-FSP GRAPHICS CARD.'

was :-

'The Warranty is 2 Years Return To Base for Credit,'

I did some looking into this earlier and there seem to be 2 8800GTs (non-AMP) SKUs with identical specs:

SKU#: ZT- 88TES3P-FSP
SKU#: ZT- 88TES2P-FSP

Whats the betting that the emboldened number indicates the warranty length? ;)

nope

If you look at the Zotac site there are 2 GT's and 2 GT AMPs... The only difference is one has DVI Audio and the other doesnt.... I dont even know what DVI Audio is!

How does return to base for credit work? "Here, have some magical Zotac monies to spend in the Zotac Kingdom of Glee"

Its the same HDMI audio thing that is featured on the Radeon 2900/3800Series. Some manufacturers are including this 'feature' on nVidia cards also.

Spot the difference!

All 4 have the standard dual DVI outputs, so Im unsure as to what benifit the DVI Audio has.

No feedback yet from contacting them, will report back when they do

EDIT: Looked at the pics, the DVI Audio versions have DVI-HDMI converters.

I got a reply back from Zotac:

Hi, and Happy New Year.

All Zotac cards come with two year manufacturer warranty. During this time, if the card stops working, you can bring the card back to your dealer and ask for a replacement. However, different retail stores may provide different warranty policies for their customer.

Kindest regards,

So looks like a 2 year replacement Warranty covered by the retailer.

Wonder why no one from OcUK could tell me this? Do they know? lol
