I think AMD's done quite well there, making a dual GPU card that isn't like 1.3x the height of a standard graphics card (X1950 Pro Dual, 7800 GT dual) without using dual PCBs (7950 GTX).

Sure have. However what it lacks in girth it makes up for in length, and then some.

Apparently shorter than as ultra though :D

Easy 4 way crossfire :) So who's gonna buy 2? hehe

But seriously, the good part is that they are full 3870's and NOT 3850's which was the common thing about the other dual solutions (read: sapphire/gecube), they always used the lesser 'pro' chips :( I can't see any Mhz ratings on the stuff though. I hope they are at least running at 775Mhz and gddr4 :)

Looking very nice. I might be interested in picking one of these up.

I wonder if these will get anywhere close to using 16x PCI-E bandwidth?

Will these function as 2 cores on 1 card like a dual core CPU or will it function like crossfire?

id imagine theyd function like 1 card as thats what it is, like to old 3dfx voodoo 5500 cards, with performance matching or beating 2 3870s in crossfire but without the hassle of it

Well that sounds good, lets hope its under £250, I wonder if a GTX will beat it with AA though. If its udner 250 and its good with AA and beating GTX in almost everything AMD is back in the game.

I can remember not so long back sites were claiming these would break 20k in 3dmarks 06 if thats the case then they will perform better than crossfire as to get that kind of score you need a pretty highly overclocked cpu and clocked crossfire gpu's. Just have to wait and see as it was most likely a lot of speculation.

Yes but we want to see its performance in games first, not 3DMark.

Sure 3DMark is good for E-Peen, but we want games.

cant wait till benches but i think it will only be good at big res the same that was with 7950gx2 and 7900gtx still was getting same fps on lower rezes but who knows the card looks long do
