Hi

With it being winter my once white wheels are now black, what is the best cleaner to bring them back to gleaming white and are there any handy tools that will help.

Thanks.:)

Wonder wheels is certainly the harshest stuff i've used. I use hot soapy water, seems to get it off fine. I'll give it a quick spray of some autocare wheel cleaner if they're still dirty. Freshly refurbed wheels though so dead easy to clean:p

edit, don't forget Autoglym tyre dressing;)

i'm also interested in this as my wheels have a build up of brake dust/ tar or something that meguiars wheel stuff won't shift :(

Autoglym stuff is decent, better than the megs stuff imo.

Give them a couple coats of wax after there all clean and dry.

I use a product called Virosol. I came across it when topics like this came up on other forums. I dilute it 1 part Virosol to 3 parts water and use it in a sprayer.

Wet the wheels then spray them all. Go round again with the sprayer and then use the brush shown underneath to get out the grime from the little grooves etc.

The wheels on my 9 year old Golf GTI look as good as new when they have had a clean.
