Got a new phone yesterday and I didn't like any of the message alerts it came with, and I cant be bothered with a whole mp3 song playing just for a text message so I went looking for tones on the net and came accross these:

http://www.studio31.org/tones/

Theres some pretty funny ones in there and was wondering if anyone has any other good tones to share? My mate has one that sounds like somebody knocking on glass as if they are inside the screen thats pretty cool. :D

Most of those are utter garbage

I went through a good 80% of them and possibly would consider the first one (20th cent fox), and that is it.

Even then, it would need to be a ringtone (due to lenght), and its not as good as the asteroid theme (Pearl & Dean).

nuff said.

Sean Bean in LOTR saying "They've got a cave troll", still makes me chuckle. It's tasteful, quiet enough not to be obtrusive and random enough that I know it'll only by my phone.

That's the thing about "funny" dwonloaded ringtones/alerts, they're normally offensive and irritating. The really good ones are normally quotes or excerpts self made from DVDs etc. imo.

Ive got the "worms" theme, it sounds like a missile is about to land, and shouts "INCOMING!!!" and then does this stupid laugh at the end.

I use a sample from portal that I pulled out with gcfscape. It's one of the turret shot at ones.

It goes "Hey!! It's me!!"

:D

Heh, someone in my office has that... always makes me smile. :)

She's not a typical gamer, though, so I wonder whether she knows where it comes from or just likes the sound of it.

most like the worms one, etc probably just been passed around over time - i've come across a few of them.

however i just make my own using programs like goldwave to edit out sections of mp3s. i'd suggest the same if you want your own unique message tone :)
