why do we blank out the word god?

just watching the fallout boy vid for this aint a scene and i'm just wondering if anyone knows why they blank this word out but in other vids they can swear etc??

case in point.... the faggot/**** words in the pogues song which i find a little more the knuckle. i dont approve of banning any words to be honest and find god a little odd...

any ideas?

i know the cut out the word god in the fallout boy song, but im sure there is a Pink song where she says god a fair few times but that is never blanked out

I was always under the impression that the clean version of the songs was down to the label not the channel, so it's up to the label what gets censored?

Theres also a 'Panic at the disco' song that blanks the word god, but I've only noticed it on MTV and Kerrang not on other channels...

Its probly due to two things, 1) God Botherers not liking the Blaspheming, so its removed to stop them complaining, 2) The OVER PC numpties at MTV etc... not wanting to offend other Religions (I'm not going to say which)..
