Pedegree Chum and Bakers lawsuit for causing cancer in dogs

Why am I been sued? :(

Because they found out that you've been making dog food out of badgers and hobo meat?

Hide behind a pseudonym all you like mister but at least we finally know why the soup kitchens of Swansea are knee deep in minnestroni :(

Dogs are meant to live around 13-20 years, you ask any old man (pre commercial dog food boom) who had a dog and they'll tell you about how long there dog lived for.

Since the 70s when pet food became more commercialised the increased rate of cancer in dogs was on a steady rise.

Most dogs now die from liver and heart problems from people feeding them crap from there table, giving them take away food etc

The other dogs are dying due to the lack of nutrients in there tinned/dry dog food, best way to find it out is to take a westie, feed it pedigree chum and watch around its eyes and mouth as it gets a lovely brown stain developing due to the complete lack of nutrients. Its NOT from dirt or anything else. (i have source material if needed)

I see people in pets at home buying there dogs treats, so i go over naturally to have a look, read the ingredients "cereals" is the first one, DOGS CAN NOT DIGEST IT! But sadly that doesn't mean they cant put it in there treats.

But the funny thing is, to feed a dog on healthy food is actually cheaper then the commercial stuff. My dog costs 62p per meal, he has 2 and half a day, pedigree chum pack of 6 tins costs nearly £6 and you have to feed your dog on average 2 a day. You can make the price even cheaper by feeding a very good brand dry food called "burns" it costs £15 a month to feed your dog.

Now some bright spark will say "how can it be healthy at that price" because the only contents in the pack are meat, rice and bone. REAL meat, rice and bone and nothing else at all.

This isn't a tin foil "omg man feed natural" thing, for dog owners its really serious, if its not good enough for humans then why is it good enough for the animals we love so much?

If you bought a product which explicitly states you're buying food which has been deemed unfit for human consumption etc then yes, you can't complain. When a product is advertised as something like 100% natural ingredients etc when it's anything but then I believe that it's pretty wrong.

I didnt disagree on that point, I was stating that its pathetic to sue them. If you dont like it, dont use or buy it. Common sense.

Snipetty snip

Cereals in dog food? - This one has always made me chuckle.

I dont have a dog, but I know Im not stupid enough to try to force my dog into eating something the poor thing couldnt eat?

I wonder just many stupid people there are out there then?

Another one tht makes me laugh is that so many people might let their dog have a bit of chicken, but they spend ages making sure the chicken has no bones in it??? What the F.... ?

I dispair.... I really do!

I think the big problem there though, is that if you didnt buy their product, who else do you go to?

When you go to another company, how do you know that their product is any better of worse, when they are all claiming to be 100% this or that?

If you didnt use anyones product, we would all starve to death, never mind the dogs.

I put Cereals in regards to pet treats, not pet food.

Cooked chicken bone or any cooked bone you should never give a dog, it splinters and can be extremely deadly to them. Best thing is to give them it raw frozen.

Cooked meat from a butchers? Cooked vegetables from a grocers? It really isnt hard to make your own dog food.

Ah now you see. thats where it shows up that I do not have a dog.

Cooked v frozen... I never knew that you see.

Had I a dog, Id never give it a cooked bone anyway, not because it splinters, but rather that I myself never cook meat on the bone, and I give my ferrets raw meat on bones and I would had I a dog, give him/her raw meat on a bone... Thats just how I am, so I would avoid that issue for a different reason... I never knew though that cooked bonmes splinter.

The Cereal issue though is one I know of and that some dog foods do contain cereal.

That is one of the best ways to feed a dog, I'd do that personally but im not in the financial situation to do so.

Not all bones. Beef bones are OK cooked, but yeah, fowl bones and IIRC pork bones can splinter and seriously damage a dog's insides.

I think they should be taken to court. Not because of the ingredients they use but because of the blatantly false advertising.

If the advert says it's made from prime chunks of beef then that's what it should be made from, not spine and dead cat...

Someone has to hold these companies accountable and a class action lawsuit is a great way of doing it.

Wild dogs usually die around 10 years.

so they aren't really meant to live 20 years, just in the right (well looked after) circumstances they can, just like a person will very rarely reach 100 without good medical and other forms of care/support.

What sense is there in letting these companies rip millions of people off while they're completely unaware, and putting crap in their pets food? Maybe the plaintiffs actually care about other peoples pets and are angry that their pets were fed this tripe through false advertising. Sometimes you need to stand up for things. I know I wouldn't simply avoid a product if toxins were being put in it while millions of others were using it unaware, that would be incredibly selfish.
