So we have the greatest motoring moment how about your worse.

For me it had to be when i was coming home from the Leeds festival in 2003. After an awful weekedn (bad company) i broke down in my Renualt 5 snapped alternator belt. luckily i had a spare in the boot changed fine but the pressure build up blew the top rad hose.

Called the AA which i had a card for turns out i wasnt a member :( something to do with non payment so i was stranded in the the end i had to call a local garage to come out before he would touch the car he wanted £160 cash if i didnt have it on me he could take me to the nearest cash machine at £3 per mile.

By chance i had the cash on me so £155 quid for a radiator bandage and some water and it still didnt get me home but at least it was in walking distance.

So share your stories

Has to be when a garage nearly caused by car to be a write off after a simple wheel job, since then I always want to know exactly what is going on when work is done on a car.

Shame I can't watch them service it :(

Probably the moment I was careering through mid air in slow motion at 50mph with my kneecap bone around the back of my leg, thinking I was certain to die, a fraction of a second after a drunk Fiesta driver decided to pull out in front of me and my motorbike.

either seeing a car in slow motion hit me and me flying over the roof and the bike getting mangled. Women speeding through a red light. But the police couldn't do anything :(.

Luckily I knew if I didn't do anything i probably would lose my leg, so I jumped rolled over the roof and apart from a bruise on my leg was fine.

Failed my bike test the next day, when a lorry flashed to let me out. he was just letting me know he was there.

wrote of a nearly new bmw318is when i was an aprentice mechanic by losing control and hitting a line of parked cars

this line of cars just happened to be the staff cars from the large vw dealer i worked at

i also wrote a couple of them off (parked cars) and did severe dameage to a couple more, one of which was a imaculate low millage 1 owner mk2 golf gti that the foreman had paid well over the odds to get

needless to say i felt like a **** for a few weeks

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

and finaly i got a bit brave at powersliding my capri 2.0s, got it sideways at 70 mph went a bit wide, thought i was gonna clip the kerb

so i lifted off sending it into a spin back the other way
hitting the kerb and snapping the rear axle half shaft, wrecking the n/s/r 1/4 so i scrapped it

i was an idiot when i was a kid

When I reversed my current car straight into a gate post one morning on the drive hung over hitting the nearside front wing. Cost me 200 quid and even now I think the car is mint but its still not got the original paint on the wing - sad i know :)

When I parked my Civic in a field accompanied by a couple of rolls, although it was the worst moment it brought me right back down to earth and realised I was driving like a chump and needed to change my ways.

When I realised that I wasn't going to stay on the road, and I was going to end up in the ditch (which I did, hitting a tree in the process)

Possibly seeing a Jag coming full pelt in my rear view, then the immediate crunch after and my head bouncing off the steering wheel. Leaving me with a fetching red mark for a few days :o

Getting pulled by the coppers for undertaking and the following months of worry waiting for the paperwork to come through :(

Blowing up the Supra really ****** me off, as did watching my 309 GTI go up in smoke.

Probably the worst is crashing my silver 309 though, because it was my fault!

Nearly crashing.. my car slipped on a grate in the wet, as I was giving it a bit too much round a 90degree corner, after being stopped from lights..

Nearly understeered into a concrete bollard. Was fairly close.

Getting rear ended. I was in traffic for ages, and the guy behind just hit me, despite having been behind for ages.

Anyway, I said pull in at the petrol station, as he moved into the lane next to me to speak, but I saw his car was mangled at the front, which made me worried.

Turned out he'd crashed it recently, which did the damage, my car was fine. :)

Smashing the windscreen with my face ,seeing lots of blood on the seats and unable to open any of the doors or sunroof ,thinking the car was going to blow up :D
To many others to mention !

also i had a go with a silver bmw from junction 9 to junction 14 of the m6 coming back from the bull ring, up to 120 mph when i could and he wouldnt budge from my back bumper

imagine my amazment when blue lights came on in his grille as he followed me off down the slip road at 14

2 week ban wasnt to bad tho considering :)

They seem to do this a lot... A few people have posted that the police have come up and tailgated them, then pulled them over when they went over the speed limit.

Crusing down the M3 in my Rover 216 many years ago, windows down, tunes blazing, when I notice some smoke coming out from the bonnet. The temp gauge shoots to red, I cack myself and pull aside. Phone the AA and low and behold, HGF .

Probably when I did this...
