Recommend me a 1st rate TV series

I've not watched a lot of TV in quite a while but over the great summer of last year found myself watching more than normal and got hooked on box sets due to the lack of waiting around and adverts.

I've watch just about everything I've been told is good.

Enjoyed

4400 4 series
Prison break series 1
heroes series 1
CSI 1,2 & 3
Battlestar 1,2 & 3 - really liked, even the GF did!
Edit - nearly forgot 24!! top shows!

Didn't mind

Jericho 1
CSI Miami. 1

Watched some Lozzzzzzzzzst :( was OK for 1st 10 but got very same like.

Got sopranos coming from a friend who has the set.

Have i missed any major great TV series?

Lost? 24? Both great imo.

Also, I've been getting into Farscape recently. Though it's not recent and it's sci-fi so I dunno if you'd want that. :)

It's not exactly within the same genre as what you've already watched but Scrubs is undeniably hilarious. I am hooked at least.
 
Was thinking the same thing myself. It would appear I am unusually fussy.

CSI Miami.

So obviously the natural choice was CSI or CSI New York. But I just absolutely cannot get into them. Every die hard CSI fan reckons Miami is rubbish in comparison but... I was hooked in Miami, could not get enough and found it thoroughly enjoyable but the others just felt like they were missing something :(
 
stargate seasons 1-5, avoid the rest like the plague.

House is good

Dont bother with lost its too tediousits like the oc on an island with flashbacks. if your in college it will be mint.
 
Why the hell has no one said The West Wing yet? 1 of the best tv shows ever made, Aaron Sorkin is a God.

It's not out here yet but there's the following to consider:

Chuck - Random guy has US national security secrets implanted into his brain by accident, ace show
Pushing Daisies - Bloke can bring the dead back to life very funny
Burn Notice - America Spy gets burned by the government and is trying to figure out who did it, in the mean time ends up helping random people out. Also stars Bruce Cambell.
Life - Damien Lewis is a cop who spends 12 years behind bars for a murder he says he didn't commit. Very funny and very watchable.
Reaper - Young lad works for the devil collecting escaped souls, been done before but very good.
 
House (my 3rd favourite), Firefly (1st favourite), Dexter and The Wire.

I'm only up to 1x3 on The Wire but really enjoying it so far, it's excellent.

This is a good show. Mad char's and great one liners in it.

As for Dexter season 3, after how number 2 ended, not sure there can be one. Hope im wrong.

Firefly is good if you have not seen it.

Also - The Unit.

i stumbled on danger UXB the other day.. now there's a blast from the past!!! hahaha

I used to really like this but it looks so dated now, a bit like myself!
