McCanns going too far?

Scorza, there's a few figures on missing / abducted children here.

Note that I am not stating any opinion on this case, merely attempting to answer a question

There's looking for her, and then there is taking the p***. The McCanns have gone way over the top with this.

Maybe that's why the McCann case is still in the public eye, as she's not been found dead or alive yet? It would be a real shame to give up on any missing child imo, especially for reasons so dumb as not wanting to hear the child's name on the news anymore.
 
It went too far a week after she went missing.

I switched off any news bulletin and skipped any newspaper article that contained any reference to her or her parents after a few days of the sickeningly cloying constant coverage.

They've made themselves, and her, celebrities out of it - just leave it alone.

I totally agree with you. It doesn't mean that the rest of us can't find it annoying though.

Your missing my point. Hundreds of kids go missing but they don't make the news. So why should the McCanns be any different?

I'm not saying lets give up looking for her, I'm saying I don't want it pushed in my face almost every week. It's like having a repost of joke every week for the last for the last 7 months, it gets boring.

99% may have been found within hours or days by the usual law enforcement response however 1% of the 837,055 missing persons is still a fairly large figure...
