Keegan appointed new Newcastle manager, again.

Yes your a mid table club, and there's exactly where you are now. With no threat of relegation I'd have given him until the end of the season at the very least.

Were a UEFA spot club (or challenging), or should and would still be if we didn't appoint souness.

Just like Liverpool are not a championship club any more, just a cup club, we all know our place.

Any selfrespecting manager surely wont touch this job with a very long stick covered in carp.

Maybe McClaren will see it as away to win back some fans if he can break the Newcastle Curse.

Maybe Kevin Keegan is coming back ?

Maybe the only choice they will have is to appoint mr Shearer

i mean no disrespect shearer was a great player but IMO he is thick as **** and he wont be a successful manager newcastle might even get into relegation trouble

and then who will they get after that even Alex Ferguson said he wouldn't touch the newcastle job

Why would he? :D

Please give the job to Shearer so we no longer have to put up with awful punditry! :p

Seriously though, I'd go with Jol. I'm sure he's learnt from his experience at Spurs and I'm sure Newcastle fans wouldn't be too upset with back-to-back 5th place finishes.

Newcastles impatience showing yet again i predict a high profile manager to come in here maybe a foreign coach.
Jose Mourinho ? Scolari ? Guus Hiddink ? or Jol probably jol lol

Man Utd are bound to lose on Saturday now (we always do badly against a new manager - Bolton this season, West Ham last season)

I'm sure its a safe 3pts.

Got to sit through it with my manc mate who'll be grinning like a...

Tut tut tut.

Where exactly do NUFC think they have "the right" to be? They have no chance of the league simply because of the mess he took over, to of finished in the UEFA cup places with the dross he had would have been a miracle.
Mind you, he did buy some terrible players when he took over as well, apart from Alan Smith, can we have back now?

ffs this is stupid, we need a long term manager to sort out the team, keeping changing managers doesn't help consistency cos the next manager in will play a different style to how they have been training under Sam

I would love to see Shearer manage the Toon one day, but right now I can't think of anything worse than appointing him thinking he'll have a magic touch on the team then seeing one of my hero's fail managing the club he loves

He might make a great manager, the players would certainly respect him and he might not buy some of the tat recent managers have bought

The fact is Fat Freddy should have never sacked Sir Bobby, we conceded goals yes, but who cares we played exciting football and scored goals to boot, players like Laurent Robert, yea he was lazy most of the time but when you needed it he could pull out something magical, imagine the crossing threat of Robert on the left and Milner down the right

Maybe it is the time to give shearer a go as until we do each new manager that comes in will just be under shearers shadow and everytime we lose we`ll have certain fans shouting for shearer.

The fans would have been behind him if he showed progression, but nothing was coming through.

They talk about stability, but he was creating move waves than was needed.

He failed not us, the fans were right behind him, he started messing about, it didn't work, it was his way of the highway, it still didn't work and now he's out of a job.

Who's to blame here?

Not us.

Alan Smith is one of the worst footballer at the club, he's terrible.

They will probably give the fans what they want then in shearer but i don't think he can do the job and it will be a short lived appointment.
If i were a toon I'd want the board to go after hiddink or scolari or jose

If they've got any sense they won't, and most of the fans DO NOT want Shearer, i wish the British media would get this through their thick skulls and people would stop spouting drivel about us. The ***** outside the stadium are just that, a rent a mob whipped up by SSN's to create a nice story.

I think Ashley will not allow a rookie to take control of the club in such a delicate state.

I expect the best their money can bring in, i don't know who that gets us, but it needs to be someone a bit special, someone no one has possibly thought about.

Who says we are a big club? The fans, the board, the media?

As a Newcastle fan I don't think we are a "big club."

Yes we were a decent team 10 years ago, but ask any Toon fan and they will tell you that we are a mediocre middle of the table club. We are no where near the top 4 and even quite a lot out of touch with teams such as Everton and Villa etc.

What we do believe is that we could be a big club if we have the right person in charge. We have a good crowd and usually have decent cash to spend, but it's usually squandered on managers and poor signings.

I think we can be decent (not top 4 for a while) if we get someone good in and is given a chance, but I don't believe or say that we are a big club.

Just my $2
