Keegan appointed new Newcastle manager, again.

Mayeb Mike Ashley wants to take over himself, like real life Championship Manager

No one can stop him

It was easy. Both Nitro and da_mic more or less summed up my opinion on the matter so it seems a bit pointless typing it all out again.

I came into the thread late because I was out getting some exercise, it doesn't mean I can't contribute.

I thought the post about Alan Shearer being a good replacement was naive considering his lack of experience and I would hate for him to come to us and throw away the respect he has earned on Tyneside.

Your opinion of Newcastle fans seems to be based on the ramblings from the back pages of the red tops. Despite what you might have read in the papers (and what is quite clear from most of the magpies posting here) we don't believe we have some god given right to be title challengers.

Your posting style and comments seem to be quite defensive and aggressive. I think you've been taking some of the early comments a bit too personally.

You mean he's a tabloid slave.

Yeah, i get that impression too.

Sun reader through and through.

Since newcastle got into the premiership the manager with the least managerial experience was the one that got us the most points and played the best football...

I don't read papers, so that's out the window. I do take it other forms of media though, mainly SSN and sports news sites, perhaps they have swayed my opinion.

I'm sorry if you don't like my posting style, I just feel like it today.

Go get someone with no managerial experience, boo him every week and repeat this post again very soon :D

I agree. I didn't say he wasn't.

But what has he done? What big stages has he played on? What has he won?

Well you said you could only name 1 big player.

Owen and Given is 2.

And who cares what he's won? Oh, you're getting mixed up between successful and big, again.

Shearer was Roeders number 2 for the remaining 6 months of the season after Souness was sacked was he not?

We managed a UEFA cup spot by the end of the season, Shearer left to do his BBC bit, Roeder struggles the following season.

Shearer was obviously influencial, whether he is the right man for the job remains to be seen.

The problem Newcastle fans had with Sam was the total lack of any progress from last season, basically due to his ludicrous big headed 'I know best' tactics. It was bloody infuriating constantly seeing Milner on the left wing, no natural player on the right and Zoggy as left back while 6m quids worth of left back talent was sat on the bench!

Playing long ball tactics to strikers less that 6ft tall (obviously not Viduka). You could see Owen against Stoke shouting to other players 'to my feet!'.

I just couldn't see how anything would have changed with him.

Now now dokko, I didn't put it quite that bluntly :p

And you're not helping!

Neither is someone who hasn't got a clue sticking his nose in, telling us how it is because he supports a successful club.

Arrogance, pure unadulterated arrogance.

Armchair fans are always the same.

I hardly think that's relevant. He's loyal to the team and he likes living in Newcastle. The fact that he's stuck with us despite the lack of silverware doesn't stop him from being a damn good player. It's the same with Shearer. What did he win (apart from the title with Blackburn?). He stayed with us through loyalty and didn't win anything. Does that stop him from being a big name player? He didn't win anything with England but he was easily the best England striker while he was there.

Read the damn post. I never said he wasn't a good player. I happen to think he's an exceptional GK.

He's just not a big player that contributes to Newcastle's so called 'big club stature'.

what odds do you think u could get on the next manager going before end of the year ?
Very poor odds.
Pretty sure that...

1, The new manager won't be a big name manager with Premiership experience

2, The new manager will struggle to get a grip with the ego's of some of the players

3, The fans will turn up outside the stadium to greet the new manager, and then boo him every week when they hit a rough patch

Awww.. dry your eyes mate. :D

Ahh playing the old armchair fan card, makes your point more valid that mine does it?

It's bad to assume.

What's that...eight premiership managers gone so far this season. (Allardyce, Mourinho, Bruce, Jol, Lee, Davies, Hutchings, Sanchez) Must be some sort of record now.

I can tell by your severe lack of knowledge about the subject you are trying to talk about you haven't got the first clue about football. Its all medals and trophies, nothing else matters, typical armchair fan, i'm very surprised your not a manc tbh.

PS: My point is move vaild as i know what i'm talking about, you are haven't got the first.
