I think it is, I've been playing it though again as I lost my old game save and was put off playing it again for ages but boy am I glad I did, tbh I can't believe this is a launch title, the graphics are stunning, impressive textures, heres I few pics I stole off the gaf,

I really do think it's the best graphical game on the 360 tbh, I know it's not consistently graphically gorgeous through out the whole game but for the most part it is, also it's got a pretty awesome score as well.

I hope for any new 360 owners out there that haven't really had the incentive to play Kameo that this helps change their minds, it really is a great game, the colorful art direction may not be to everyones liking though.

They are very good graphics and it's a game that if released today would just be as successful as on it's original release date. Doesn't looked dated whatsoever.

I think Gears still beats it in looks but GoW can do this easier by using such darker colours. Kameo doesn't.

I was thinking of picking this up actually, what do you think of it? :)

For the price ti will be now you don't have many excuses not to pick it up :) It's a great game, we still have it at home. Real good fun using all the characters and it can be used co-op too.

I've never really noticed how beautiful it looks up til now. Once you're playing the game, it's a rollercoaster of action so you don't tend to stop and gawp at the scenery. It's making me want to get it again to play.

I agree with 'Andybst', not only are the graphics great like I stated in my OP but the game-play is awesome also, thinking back it has been one of my most enjoyable 'single player' games, the only bug bear I find in the game is the controls, they are really not that intuitive which can be a pain sometimes, some of the characters do take a while to master because of this.

I'm sure Dirtydog would complain about frame rates or something ;)

I'm not sure about the best looking game on the 360, there are plenty of other great looking games (however most are darker).

This game is very bright and has great scenery, but I was not a great fan of the character art tbh.

The only part of this game I did not enjoy were the parts where you needed to use the blue under water creature (fighting the ships and subs etc) The controls really ****** me off

Edit: thinking about it. I played this game in SD. I might have a bash in HD.

I've always said that if you want a single game to show off the power of the 360 - pick Kameo. It's so colourful that it'll show off any HDTV to it's best potential, the audio is top notch and if you want to see those core's in action then just bear witness to the elves vs troll/orc war that rages in the badlands - all that without a hint of slowdown, and that's from a launch title. I even wrote to RAGE congratulating them on the title years ago.

Just like Condemned, Kameo is a heavily overlooked title. I recently repurchased it when the demo hit the marketplace last year just so I could listen to the awesome score.

well it's definitly up there with the best of them graphicly at least, that you have to admit, some of the textures in the game are amazing, look at the wall on the second pic I posted in the OP, also look at the textures close up here,

ahhhhh well then :-P, get playing it in HD.

yep i agree one of the best looking games on the 360, one of the most enjoyable too, is there any news on the 2nd as they said it depended on sales.

I never really liked the demo, but have always had this in the back of my mind as one to pickup. Can be had easily for under a tenner so there really is no excuse, apart form I have too many other games at the moment!

It's a nice looking game, although the bright colours do help it to look attractive. From a purely technical point of view it's been beaten by a number of games to date.

I actually thought the graphics were very poor considering the 360's power.. elements of it do look this but in terms of "artistic" styling it dosnt do anything for me. Id personally say Mario Galaxy looks better in a lot of ways.. especially when you compare what the machine can do.

not sure it's just colors/art-direction alone that make this game look impressive tbh, I think technically it's quite impressive as well, the particle effects were/are very good, not to mention the textures I pointed out above, not many 360 games even today have textures of that quality, look at the wall below,

And no way on this planet has Mario Galaxy got better graphics than this game, yes MG is very impressive for the hardware it's running on but it's not as graphically impressive as Kameo, whack Kameo on a decent HD screen and have a fly around the enchanted forest when you reach it, it's just stunning.

Rare are kings when it comes to textures and if you look past the fact the PDZ is bloody awful the textures again there are quite stunning. I saw a slide from Rare on neogaf re. Kameo recently and it shows that as a launch game they were late getting final dev kits from MS so it only uses 2 or 3 of the 6 available cores. It gives me very high hopes when I think of future Rare releases like Banjo, and also Fable 2 as Rare and Lionhead are quite close these days.

I still think Kameo stand out as a 'beautiful' game. At launch even on a SD TV I was stunned with how good it looked and played (we'll ignore the water part). I would love a Kameo 2 but with only reasonable sales (500k or so) I'm not sure it's high on Rare's list.

It's certainly very pretty but I think in terms of colourful artistic graphics Eternal Sonata beats it IMO. Also in terms of technical graphics I prefer Gears of War.

It is mighty pretty though :)

I loved Kameo, thought it was brilliant. I remember people moaning about the 360 launch but it was absolutely excellent. Kameo, Condemned, PGR3, PDZ (which I loved) all kept me going for ages :)

I think I saw Kameo for £8 new from a supermarkets website.

In essence it plays a bit like banjo kazooie only with less collecting. With the story its a bit like a kiddish version of Zelda, especially with the different temples.

Thanks for posting these images/opinions, I'll definitely be getting this for me/the missus now!
