SKODA Octavia VRS WRX ?

Just had a better look at this tonight it is very nice idd but £8k, thats with £1k off hmm.

Anyway i just did a search on Pistonheads to see whats available for that price and i was shocked ,So many nice cars even a nice 330d that i took a shine to, don't know what to do now , should i go take a test drive in the vrs ?

Given the choice I'd take the 330d over the Skoda any day. It's a far superior car.

I 2nd that, but depends how you are comparing milage and age etc.

As I'm sure you could pick up a Leon Cupra R or Audi S3 for that price, but depends what details you want. I.e. low milage over age etc etc.

It would be a nightmare to drive with 337bhp going into the front wheels. The chassis on the VRS isn't that great.

It's not that bad... I know the guy from the forums. Pretty damn quick!!

The chassis isn't bad at all standard, with some tweaks it's pretty solid.

In what way?

It's not much faster, infact i've kept up with 330i and 330ds in mine without much trouble.

I'm guessing build quality + cost of parts? :p

I doubt they were being driven on the limit - the public road isnt the place for that. The 330i has a large power advantage and is considerably faster.

Build quality, refinement, handling, steering, proper wheel drive.

The handling and steering alone would be enough to make me pick the Beemer.

I'm talking about a remapped vrs sorry.... which is similar power just a difference delivery method. Infact the 330i is 230bhp, so about 10bhp more but with 150kg more weight...

You'd be suprised, 30-70/80mph on the remapped vRS is pretty decent. I had a 20-110 odd straight line race with an m3, he only really started pulling away at 75+ I kid you not. This was on a track of course though.
