Bill Bailey - Under rated comedic genius?

Comedy Genius. I'd love to see him live but he's very popular up here and by the time I hear of any concerts the bleeding things have already sold out. One day soon though I will manage to beat the hordes and secure a ticket to comedy nirvana.

I loved Bill Bailey until I saw Cosmic Jam, then I realised that a lot of his humour is about being off his head on drugs and lost a lot of respect for him :(.

Loved the Part Troll gig, and he never failed to entertain on Buzz or QI. When watching Hot Fuzz with a paket cinema and he appeared at the police desk a stong cheer went up. :)

Not been able to get hold of any other gigs on dvd - also his new one was filmed in Nov, so due out soon?

Plus as an ex-Argos employee the Argos joke was *****'in brilliant.

I don't think he's under rated as a comedian, he's well known and judging by the response on here, a lot of people (including me) think he's hilarious and a fantastic stand up.

I do however think that he's an under rated musician and song writer, as musically he's extremely talented.

I wouldn't really say he was underated, a few years back maybe, before he was a regular on TV with Buzzcocks and QI

Saw him live in Brighton a couple of months ago doing Tinselworm - bloomin' hilarious throughout...I don't think he's underated its just that some people don't get his style / sense of humour...the musical elements certainly are another highlight - let alone the standup. I'm also an avid fan of QI and NMTB plus Black Books and Spaced (which is when I first remember seeing him). Got the DVDs of course :D

The Argos joke in Part Troll always has me crying 'the laminated book of dreams' - and being a fellow Kraftwerk fan I appreciated his 'Das Hokey Cokey' tribute.

Chaucer pub joke is fabulous as well, some people might not have seen it as its not on part troll, nor (i think) his stand up -

I dunno, I can still see it in some of his newer stuff, and it just bothers me. I like Part Troll and Bewilderness, and Black Books etc, but part of me always sees the crazy drug addict.
