Spec me a really really scary film!

Hmm, scary as in jumpy or just plain URG? Creep was a bit bloody freaky but still kinda entertained me cos im mch like yourself, everything seems to crack me up.

There was one film which was a bit freaky about 'the countess' and they made a videogame about her, and people were dying how their characters did in the game, just remmembered name, its called 'stay alive'.

Got a film iv been meaning to watch called DEAD SILENCE, about a freaky puppet that kills people, kinda freaky just for puppet, can imagine him saying stupid lines or the gore being OTT and making me laugh though. Hmm Turistas/Paradise lost may freak you a bit but its still not really scary..
Hm come on people more input, the ops made me want to be scared too!

Shutter, thai horror.
Seconded, the reveal at the end is outstanding, throws a completely different slant on the story.
Also you should definitely check out The Eye, which happens to be another Thai horror. Very, very chilling.
Oh, make sure you watch the Thai version and not the inevitably shoddy US remake.

The first would definately be classed as scifi/horror. You are obviously more of a man than everyone else on ocuk as you couldnt even figure out what the scary parts were :p. Cant comment on aliens as i havent seen it in ages

hmm.. i remember a few suspensful parts, but there was nothing that actually scared me, its on film4 right now actually!

For me its like supernatural/ghost films that scare me, nothing else does.

edit: The thing, whilst an awesome film didnt scare me one bit either.

if you havent see this film you are in for a treat

The Thing

john carpenter horror classic

see i found the thing a bit funny for a while and then it only just managed to hold my attention for a while afterwards, i will give it credit because it is a good film, but i think the ops a bit like me so it wont really scare him.

Hm I find supernatural ones etc dont really scare me, its more the films about everyday people and shocking torture that do make me feel uncomfortable, but then i guess thats not really scary. Watched saw4 other day, jeez its still got its gruesome factor hasnt it.

You either have to go for a bit of Japanese cult horror, or some nasty korean stuff.

Oldboy is a good one to watch if you like being messed with in the head.
I'm a huge rob zombie fan so House of a 1000 corpses and the devils rejects are both awesome.

I'll have a rummage around in the old collection see what I'd say. Not a big fan of the grudge and the ring (Jap versions not filthy hollywierd versions) it's all about the independent Japanese horror directors (although they are not very mainstream and harder to find).

Will any of those make me not want to move after watching them in fear of something happening?

Thats what im after :D

And your suggestions would be greatly appreciated

if you have a laptop watch the powerpuff girls movie down the pub, with the volume just loud enough so peopel can hear it, it should be quite scary especially during the later hours :p

although not a film or video, my friend once said the scarist thing he read was that little red book written by chairman mao, it may be worth looking into
