it does look nice, however so did the first crisis images, untill they released it and locked everything out.

OK, just investigated. This is from Far Cry 2 website:

Estimated Requirements

* The GC 07 demo was running on a beefed up Core 2 Duo and an 8800.
* This was a pre-alpha showing meaning that the game will be even more optimized by the time it is released.
* Clint Hocking (Creative Director) stated that the game will run on a fast single core cpu and a strong DX9 graphics card
* Far Cry 2 seems to be in line with the estimated requirements for Crysis

High Requirements
CPU: E6600 Core 2 Duo
Graphics: Nvidia 8800GTS
RAM: 2GB
Hard Drive Space: 6-8GB

What engine is far cry running on? Is it a beefed up cryengine 1 or the same as crysis? (or something completely different?)

heard the exact same stuff from them about crysis. i dont buy it this time.

Someone really needs to make an RPG with either the engine than runs this or the cryengine2 - imagine oblivion on cryengine 2.

its not hard for it to be moer optimised, to be badly optimised would be an improvement over no optimisation at all!

I like the looks of it, reminds me of the Stalker engine. Maybe not as realistic as the Crysis engine but it seems to create a very rich looking atmosphere.

I agree, the graphics aren't really that good it does but it does look very atmospheric.

Except Ubisoft had nothing to do with Crysis. Its not even the same engine.
