I was mulling over the decesion to buy a Wii.

During this process I have looked for one online. I cannot believe they are still out of stock everywhere.

Im not looking for advice where they are as I know OC sell them, just wanted to vent a little disappointment as the stock levels.

Wii is all conquering. The fact I cant buy one (EDIT- the basic non rubbish bundle and not overpriced version) as they are out of stock and they are still the highest selling console is nuts.

EDIT 2 - I have only checked online.

Nintendo did ramp the production up to 1.8 million a month in October/November, but they still sell out! They are just about to hit 20 million sold!

I have seen them over the last week available in the high street - but retailers with stock are still doing silly bundles like 299 for the Wii and 3 crap games.

i got one for standard price online from a competitor -ordered thursday night delivered this morning postage free. Try wii alerts Google is your friend.

If you know your highstreet chains then have another look, there is one that is now £249.99 with any 2 games + wii + wii sports. Not a bad deal really.

i have managed to buy 2 since xmas from 2 different highstreet stores. They are about, but you have to be persistant in your searching.... just depends on how badly you want them :)

My brother managed to get hold of one at the weekend from a video rental shop by chance really as he has been searching a little while for one

i got one on wednesday from a large retail musicy place (on its own) but then saw them on thursday in a more games orientated (no doubt you need to buy a crap package) place seems being in the right place at the right time tbh.

also believe the supermarkets are getting them in fairly regularly.

getting an extra pad was harder work actually.

Stock is starting to become easier, especially if you actually check shops not just websites. The purple shirted shop I work in got *15* in last week. Might not seem like a big number...but then you realise they sold out in less than 3 days. Selling £3000 of a single console hardware SKU in a usually slow period of the year is no mean feat, so thiers still demand, but stock is starting to appear.

Not here im affraid, no Wii's in stock since well before christmas and still no news on a date on getting them in stock. Get the odd nun-chuck now and then but thats about it. Shame really as my 10% discount will come in handy.

odd cos shopping centre of doom aka. trafford centre.

My wife trudged through at least 8 shops trying to get one. we got a nun chuk from a large supermarket the and the other bit from the toy warehouse.

meant travelling around manchester like a git though.

i saw 10/15 wiis in 2 seperate shops (1 in tc one elsewhere) in 2 days so assumed that wasnt an issue.

Thats one thing all the shops around where I live seem to have

I got one last wednesday from the supermarket I work in - they got 10 in and sold them all in 2 days. They've had nun-chucks in for ages - but I've not seen wii-motes or Play anywhere in ages.
