i had a dream a long time ago that the earth would be consumed by fire.

I was standing in a sorta field i could see for miles and miles around. In the distance i saw an orange glow stretching across the horizon. Then massive flames/fire sorta rushed over everything pretty fast (think Terminator 2 Judgement Day)

realistically I don't think it's much to panic about, heres a list of recent near misses from Nasa's NEO website, as you can see we had one that came within 1.0 LD on the 13th, that was 0.4 LD closer than the TU24 is going to pass by us on the 29th, the AF3 NEO was only a baby though @ 14m-31m in diameter, the TU24 NEO is estimated @ 240m-550m in diameter, not that it reallly matters though.

Yse but then there's the 'plasma discharge' thing. Apparently if the asteroid's negatively charged we're all screwed, even if it does miss us by 500,000km.
