to rumble or not to rumble

The improved thumb sticks are noticeable even just in the internet browser. With the regular sixaxis, the cursor doesn't move unless you move the thumbstick half way. But with the DS3, even a twitch will move it.

no different here, tried both taking turns, still moves same difference before it moves the cursor

Is your PS3 relatively new MMM? Reason I ask is I think they have improved the Sixaxis that are shipping with newer PS3's, it might explain why your not seeing much (if any) difference between that and your DS3.

new as in last of the 60gig with the see through plastic on the controller, i see no difference between the two except for rumble and better weight and build quailty.

Not really bothered about rumble but have bought another standard controller and noticed that the new pad is slightly clearthrough compared to my default pad that came with the 40gb console which is solid black. I think it's what's know as smokey black finish.

Anyway, wouldn't the rumble drain the battery much quicker?

Both my old pads were slightly transparent.

The new DualShock 3 pad is infintely better in all respects.

I paid £32 delivered for mine just before Christmas :)

personally i see no difference except for rumble and build, apart from thats its identical, are you lot sure its just not shiny new toy syndrome and thinking its better?

The sticks are no different, the triggers are no different, the buttons are no different.

I agree, I swap between mine (when the DS3 dies I swap to the normal one) and noticed no differences. Either my original sixaxis was better than ones others have got, or (more likely) because people have read there is differences based on some reviewers etc they just imagine the difference in a "placebo"/new toy kind of way. My Sixaxis moves on screen in games even if I nudge it a tiny bit (even in the web browser I can't see differences, whcih would be easier to track on screen with the mouse cursor used in wbe browser mode).
