Do you find overweight people attractive?

Different Strokes for Different folks - like who you want and love who you love.

Not my bag (the picture in the link), but then my girlfriend is probably the next guys unattractive person, it's all subjective.

She looked so nice in the bottom photo as well !!!!

She was very attractive I thought.

Highly overweight people are not physically attractive to the majority of people. I don't think this can really be disputed.

However, once you're beyond the initial physical attraction stage, it doesn't bother me, nor I feel would it bother most people, if someone was a bit overweight. Though it depends how you define it. Medically, a lot of people are 'overweight' that (from memory) many guys on here would describe as 'curvy' or someone 'with a bit of meat on her'

Verging on obese, is a different matter.

In short : It depends :p

Yep I think that's just with BMI though, I think you can look and see if someone is very overweight or not without using BMI which can be useless anyway.

I really like it, I think she’s hot, I still find some thinner women attractive. But I do prefer the bigger woman, not the ones with rolls of fat spewing over their pants and 4 chins. There is a bit of a difference and I'm not ashamed to admit to it. :p

So you actively look for the bigger woman?

It seemed like a few years back, every time I was unfortunate enough to catch a few minutes of American talk shows it would feature some massively overweight woman parrotting the phase "I may be fat, but I'm all that", to whoops and applause from the audience. I'm afraid I disagree with that statement entirely. Each to their own, but DanTheMan's post echoes my feelings exactly.

Things like this tug me in two directions.

When someone's obese you generally assume a lack of self-control and exercise, they must be lazy and lacking in willpower. That is indeed unattractive.

BUT I have a wee condition which from the age of 15 (when all the puppy fat fell off me and I looked amazing) basically gained me half a stone every year until hitting 13st last year. I finally realised how well-behaved with food and remarkably un-lazy I was compared to my slim friends - I was obese, with a BMI of about 32, and enough was enough.

I'm now on some medication, which alongside my cycling to and from work and swing-jive obsession, has allowed me to lose 1½ stone since August, and counting.

So not all obese people are really there because of laziness or gluttony. And I can find some larger men attractive - but they're the ones that carry it well and lead interesting lives.

Lust is not 'looking' for me, I'd go for who ever I found the most attractive. She maybe the 6' Slender red head at the bar more then the 5'9 Pear shaped girl.

I meant is that the "type" you look for. If you even have a type, I don't. I wonder what it is that makes someone attractive to someone else? I find all different sorts of people attractive but some "classically" good looking people just don't do it for me.

I find that once your in love with someone, you have a higher tolerance of people 'letting themselves go a bit'.

Don't get me wrong, I like 'curvy' women, but I generally don't find obsese women attractive, but if you like that, then all the best :)

Obviously not all obese people are that way through over eating but I don't think most have anything wrong with them that makes them over eat. Clearly you have a medical problem which you're dealing with but a lot don't.

Also if someone were obese and not doing anything to try to change it I would worry for their health.

Personally, I find I don't like obese people, I wouldn't treat them any differently to the next person, but something about it just flips my switches, women in particular.

What really annoys me is these 'I'm big and beautiful, yes i'm morbidly obese but I love my sexeh body!' type of people. Yes, well done for being able to finish off 5 packs of biscuits in one sitting.

What I don't get is all these stomach tie operations, a lot of obese people claim they can't lose weight whatever they do, and an operation is their last hope. Yet surely the concept of both the operation and general weight loss is the same, eat less and exercise to lose weight. I'm no doctor, but surely the only difference is you can't actually eat as much after the operation, thus the people who try to diet are still eating too much to lose any weight.

All these obese people moaning how hard it is to lose weight, try putting it on! Personally I find it a struggle to stay above 9 and a half stone.

I dont find it attractive at all.

If someone I was with put on a lot of weight I think I would be put off in exactly the same way as if they went from having a pleasant personality to having a nasty one. In most cases, looks are what attract you to the person in the first place, and as far as Im concerned, looks are just as important as 'whats inside'.

BMI is very strict, and doesn't account for muscle mass. I think it is a good general indicator of telling you about your body though.

A lot of people may not 'look' overweight but according to their BMI they are. I would argue that most people who are overweight according to their BMI know they are overweight regardless of whether they know anything about BMI or not.

I dont actively look for any type of girl. I can find any woman (extreme thin and extreme fat excluded) attractive in the right situation.
Bigger women can be very sexy, i am with a size 18 at the moment (with 38DD's) who is very sexy, she knows how to dress and knows how to walk and because she knows i think she is sexy she becomes more sexy (self confidence is a big factor in sexiness).

Stop implying that she's obese, she is far, far from it. BMI counts for diddly. :p

People like her, then yes.

It's just who you are that you are attracted to, how you grew up, seems to define everything else in your life. No reason why it can't dictate your sexual preference.

My tastes tend to change according to the shape of my current partner, when I was with a curvier girl I preferred that, but now I like smaller :p

However to answer the question - do I find overweight people attractive? No.

I think that too. The operation just makes them unable to eat as much so they should just use some self control and save the nhs money while they're at it. Surely if they can't control themselves then when the op is revered they'll just put on weight again?
