Devil May Cry 4 Demo Thread

Me neither.
I thought the videos I've seen so far looked pretty, but, not really my cup of tea gameplay wise.
Which is why it's nice to have a demo to try.
I may be nicely surprised, and order it
Wish they'd put more demos up there... there are still some games I'm not sure about, and aren't just going to buy blind. Like Assassin's Creed, after all the negative posts in here, I left it until I could get a second hand copy... now I love it. If there had been a demo, they'd have got a launch day sale!
Still, that's a different discussion, for a different thread. At least we got the DMC demo, so people like us, who've never played one, can see what it's all about

I downloaded it having never played DMC before, it was alright but not really the genre of games I enjoy. Was worth giving it a go though and the graphics look nice, just dont know whether to keep my preorder anymore. The jap PSN is so much quicker, it took about 7 mins to download... the EU one id still be downloading it now.

just tried the PS3 demo, what a morning Burnout Paradise and now this.
What can i say - WOW 2x in one day! - Devil May Cry is back again, loved it, its games like this that i just love above all others and what consoles are made for - pure fun. Pre-ordering now for PS3

Just had a quick game. I got as far as the crane cabin and activated the bridge but couldn't get out of the sodding cabin. The hack and slash/collect hearts type games I'm not really in to and this was one of those games.
The baddies looked utterly stupid, the visuals were quite nice - the engine looked very similar to the Unreal3 engine but a lot more fluid and without it's 'texture' issues. The camera angles were frankly crap, I just hate games with fixed cameras - and I got trapped in between two camera angle transitions at one point. I'd walk forward, switch to a new camera and end up walking backwards to the first camera in a 10 second loop if you know what I mean.
Not a bad game, although the demo doesn't make me want to rush out and purchase it.

It was announced for the 360 absolutely ages ago.
I'll get this on release.
Though fighting seemed basic, either I sucked or demo limitation, fighting is much more advanced here and some of the same demo level is played;

It can be had for £30 delivered online (import ps3 version). Although i am paying more to get it near/before release date.

Ugh, I am disappointed. The gameplay's pretty shallow. It's incredibly awkward to rev up your sword, while shooting and locking onto enemies and swiping at them. Apart from that, it's still virtually identical to Devil May Cry 1, and not different enough. I was hoping for a change in direction for the series, but it simply hasn't came. Capcom did the old 'plaster over what was broke in 2 and 3 and just put shiny graphics on top' approach instead of opting for a real change. Definitely not going to bother with this one. Fans of the series will like it though.
