aah stage two. I take it you have completeled stage one by taking a photograph of a duck?

Its a nice shot mate but photographing the moon can be one of the most boring subjects you can do unless you really take a super close up of it.

Thanks for sharing :)

Oddly enough I went out not too long ago with my sigma 70-300mm to get a shot of the moon as well :D

Try a tighter crop (I cropped mine to 100%) and sharpening it a little :)

Yeh i remember lots of people taking pictures of white blobs , so i was kinda thrilled to get my first proper moon shot.. That was the point of the post not right up close walking on the moon shots or cities with the moon looming above. It's just a moon shot :D

What camera did you use as when i buy my camera i will want a few shots like this.

Could a 400D with a 18-55 kit do shots like that, i want to go up the high parts of queensbury over looking the city and get a shot of the moon/sky/city.

You can do it with any SLR with a long enough lens. 18-55 won't cut it though, the moon isn't big enough to use a length that short, you'll want at least 300mm and even then it'll only fill a tiny amount of the frame.

You could probably do it with a large proportion of bridge cameras too.

What divine said

Would be awsome with a 400mm+ im sure :D

Canon 350D, taken during the eclipse in march IIRC. Image totally unchanged. Can't remember which lens I used though;)

I got a Sigma 70-300 APO Macro D for about £200 , but you can get a tamron(?) lens for a lot cheaper some places less than £100 though i prefered the sigma for the budget & top quality

I assume quality differ yes?

How much does the qual differ between the sigma and the tamron(?)?

EDIT: I can see 70-300mm lenses ranging from £40.

Theres one for £86 which looks nice but theres one for a shocking price.

Around £630 for this:

NEW! Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM LENS 70-300
