Is this normal? See Pic

So did you just bend it back and try it, id say unless the box it came in was smashed up, that bend was from when it was made in the factory, ive seen it plently of times, as have the other guys replying in this thread, just bend it back plug it into your MB and enjoy.

I would take the plate off if its easy enough (which they normally are) and try the card without the plate, if it works then bend it, if not then put the plate back on and RMA.

Have to agree, just bend it back, i bend those all the time when im taking me cards out, as theres a little bobble right next to them on me case which they catch on. :D

Just out of interest, what state was the box in if you received your card like that?

Upon checking out the box its bashed, ripped and the like, so it looks like its been thru the wars! I didnt really notice this at first as the delivery guy woke me up so it was a scramble to the door, lol, and in the excitement of checking out me new gear I just put the box to one side.

I do appreciate your comments guys but to spend £200 on a GFX card and then to find it bent etc is not my idea of fun, also I dont know what else has been compromised on the PCB etc and unfortunately cant test card until I receive my new PSU.

And as I said earlier, if I did somehow damage it or the kink remains then it could affect any future warrentys as they will blame me!

Peace :)

Yeah send it back. Why the hell should you have to mess with it for their incompetence?

I wouldn’t even think about it - straight back. LOL, bet companies hate me, so what.

Your being mega paranoid. If it is damaged it is damaged and it won't work or be blantantly obvious something is wrong. You still have a warranty etc.

That is hardly called 'damage' it is a mild metal pushed out of place. You quite often have to bend them just to get them in a case the first time as every case isn't identical fit.

I wouldn't be surprised if a company tech, took one look at it and thought WTF and took 2 secs too push it into place before sending it back to you and then billing you for no damage to product.

Score another for the courier...

Given the above, I'd RMA it. Too right you should demand a pristine conditioned item for your money, why should you compromise because some numpty at the depot decided to give your parcel a beat down?

Its really stupid RMA'ing it without even trying it tbh, if it dont work after trying it then RMA it....

No offence but I used to work for a haulage firm, and you should really have checked it first or just signed for it as damaged. Without doing that you have no comeback on the courier itself, the only comeback is that it it is damaged when you received it from the company as such. The packaging looks very pretty, but the point to packaging is not to stick on your shelf and look pretty, it is to PROTECT the product. If that is all that has happened then it's fine and just use the card.

I respect if you want to return it, but it really is pointless IMHO. I'd be a bit upset, but really... just use the card.

Just to conclude this thread, I've arranged an RMA, the company are arranging collection on Monday and then deliver a new replacement, so no cost to me, which is how it should be.

Thanks for everyones input, always appreciated :)

So how long are you having to wait? Most likely the card was in perfect working condition and a bent piece of metal does not mean its damaged.

You RMA'ed it.

Meh well that's your decision. Well at least your have more patients than me. I would have just bent it back thrown it in the case and played on a game with max graphics for hours on end......

LOL me too I can't just let it sit there all pretty in the box over the weekend just waiting to be taken away again on Monday!!

At least you've got it sorted now.

Probably gonna get a replacement midweek, also remember in my earlier post I havent yet got my new PSU so waiting a few days isnt gonna kill me, lol ;)

Reading the etailer and BFG's warrenty conditions both state that its void if any physical damage is done to the card, so if they saw the kinks they could refuse it etc....

Anyway, i'm happy so far

Peace :)
