• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Where are they?

Less than many were expecting though to be honest. Whether it's a good deal is still open to question as this is more expensive than buying two indiviudal 3870s (although clearly there are additional benefits to this card which may warrant the extra cost).

I'm very tempted to be honest, and I've been waiting to upgrade for some time. My finger is hovering on the button, but is the HIS the best choice? I hate buying anything until I know what it can do, and how it compares to the competition.

The first batch will all be the same appart from different stickers, they always are.

LOL, oh dear. When they put the price up like that, you know it's only because they've spotted what the compeition is doing, not what they need to do to make a profit.

Need something clarified here, which boards are currently able to support two of these in crossfire (crossfireX) - pending the required drivers that is? Will any x38 board suffice?

I always hoped they would be better, but it seems your better of just getting an 8800gts 512mb for they money really (as in "better bang for buck").

If you want the best, I don't think buying 1 3870x2 comes into it really. Buying 2 3870x2's might be interesting if - and only if - they scale better than tri/quad SLI.

Think I will wait to see what nvidia come up with. If the 3870x2 is just two 3870s on one board, when nvidia do the same with the 8800 it will be better as 8800 > 3870.

I read somewhere someone was saying that nv have to downscale the gx2 as it was getting too hot and they couldnt keep the temps down so dont get your hopes up just yet.

Can somebody tell me please if it's possible to watercool this card? I have Zalman Reserator Plus 1 version. Do I just get 2 VGA heatsinks?
