18 year old + M5 and 5 friends =

We have no idea how long he had been driving the BM'er

It was a 2008 M5.

for but one thing is for sure, it could have happened in any car.

A 1.1 Saxo won't even DO 150+ mph let alone get there before the end of a runway so no, it couldnt have happened in any car.

Besides - the chances of saying 'Get in my car lads and watch THIS' is far higher if you own a 500bhp than if you have a 50bhp car cos 1.1's are not impressive and your mates wont care.

So it's just an illusion the ammount of young lads that die showing off with others in their car.

They all drive 2008 M5's obviously:rolleyes:

If you honestly think that there is no increased risk of a huge accident if an 18 year old has a 2008 M5 instead of a 1.1 Saxo then I no longer wish to waste any time debating anything of value with you on these forums.

Infact, go get an insurance quote, I'm sure there is only a few quid in it between an M5 and a Saxo

Where in this thread have I denied "the increased risk".

Of course there is an increased risk.

All I'm saying is this type of thing can happen in any car. I'm stating the fact that he got a load of mates in his car and obviously tried to show them what it can do.

Things may be different where you live Fox, but up here only a couple of weeks ago 3 lads were killed in a Saxo at a reasonably high speed down some lanes.

I'm 17, i've just passed, and i drive my mums ford ka 1.3! I'm glad i don't have anything faster, i know i would crash!

Pretty much an identical situation to you, i praise the lack of horses under my bonnet.

Oh and as for the top speed thing, my car doesn't go past 95/96 =[ i need to find a hill to see if i can break 100.
