Singstar PS3

well, i got it on release, having loved it on my PS2.

I thought (dunno why) that if i put the PS2 discs in when PS3 version was on it would unlock them to download for free for me.

Guess i was wrong :(

Much as I'd have loved that (got about 6 PS2 singstar games!) it was never going to happen:

1) Nothing stopping you renting/borrowing all the games and ripping them onto your hard drive without ever buying the game.

2) There is probably copyright issues where they don't have the rights to use the tracks on a PS3 game.

3) Sony can make mucho $$$ by flogging them all again.

Point 3 being the most pertinent one :p I've already brought Life on Mars, Total eclipse of the heart and Suspicious minds even though i've got them on the PS2 games!
 
Sony have today revealed the list of songs for the next Singstore update and here they are:

In English:
Bryan Ferry “Let’s Stick Together”
Doves “Black And White Town”
Editors “Munich”
Marillion “Incommunicado”
MC Hammer “U Can’t Touch This”
UB40 “Red Red Wine”
Whitney Houston “The Greatest Love Of All”

These songs will hit the Singstore on Wednesday 6th February along with a new paradise beach wallpaper.
 
I played this game a few weeks back at a friend's house. I was certainly surprised how good it was. Awesome game, especially at parties etc. I was terrible btw :)

Well, it's not rubbish, that much is known.
It's a completely different game to Rock Band and features a lot of different songs. It's also cheaper than Rock Band and available in this country.

Would you like it if it was on the Xbox360?
 
I'm not talking about the Playstation 2 though.
My point stands that this game isn't rubbish nor is it comparible to Rock Band. If anything, Rock Bands singing is emulating (or attempting to) the success of SingStar.
 
The only trouble with this game is my wife is good at it. Thus she now thinks she can sing, where in fact she is a tone deaf bint. The cat she ran over last week sounds better.
 
Mc Hammer, Red Red Wine and , Lets Stick Together are what i ahve just purchased.

I would love to see Guitar Hero go this route with a store and everything
