Jeremy Beadle passes away

RIP Sir Jeremy (he was knighted according to C4 news for his work for charity).

He'd been ill for a while now so I'm not really surprised this happened now. I remember him on "Game for a Laugh" in the '80s - he stole the show back then and got "Beadle's about" on the back of that. Can't say I like who whole practical joke thing but there were some genuinely class moments - the woman who asked an "alien" if it wanted a cup of tea instantly springs to mind.

A great shame he's gone :(

He attracted funds for Children with Leukaemia all through his life and is thought to have raised more than £100 million for all charities

Stunning amount of money. If that is true, he should be remembered for that before anything else.

RIP

And so another one bows out of the picture. I remember him from years back doing his tv stuff. I wasnt really a fan of him but he certainly had a laugth winding people up with his "Game for a Laugth" and "Beadles About" shows, the lady and alien thing was a classic as was the bloke and his van going into the canal lol.

R.I.P Sir Jeremy Beadle

Apart from the show being completely transparent, it was a good laugh on a Saturday evening.

The one where he recruits someone to work in the butchers, and increasingly became more like a vampire was probably the best IMO.

You've been framed > any clip show

RIP :(

loved Beadles about and you've been framed when i was younger

damn did he get a lot of stick for having that little hand

edit: just noticed this on his obituary

'In his most famous hidden camera stunt, he managed to convince Dorset homeowner Janet Elford that an alien spaceship had landed in her back garden.

She was so sucked in to the scenario that she sang a hymn to the visitor from outer space before asking it into her house for tea.' :D

Very surprised and upset to hear he had passed on. such a young age too :( Loved watching his shows when I was little.

I never even realised he had a small hand until later in his career.

I can never understand these kind of threads.

What point do they have? Unless you knew the man himself, you can really be that sad over his death.
