29th & 30th Football *Spoilers*

That would be a poor excuse imo. Rafa is the main reason they aren't doing well and the Liverpool fans imo are blind to that because of a few cup runs, I wouldn't be surprised if they had another good cup run this season which will keep him in his job and Liverpool are nowhere near challenging for a league title.

i don't think any united, arsenal or chelsea fans want to see benitez leave to be fair.

It might be funny if you didn't say it every day dan ;)

I also find it funny how Arsenal fans can give Benitez stick when you consider that since he joined us he's won more than Wenger in the same time and imo we're more likely to win a trophy this season than Arsenal are.

Its all good and well Arsenal playing attractive football but untill this side wins anything its pretty meaningless.

i don't think liverpool fans like wenger for 2 reasons.
1. he won the league within 7 years of being at the club so that's that old chestnut out the door.
2. he competes well with united and chelsea despite spending less? than liverpool.

wenger kind of messes up the standard lines to be honest :p

Who said Liverpool fans don't like Wenger?

He's done and doing an excellent job however Arsenal haven't been successful over the last few years (in terms of winning things).

ah my wording was wrong, when i said think i meant that i imagine liverpool fans don't like wenger. not that you categorically don't. sorry. it's just that he debunks a few myths.

Maybe because Arsenal have looked like challenging for the league in the last 18 years, aren't currently 17 points behind the top 2 clubs. Yet Liverpool fans still think Benitez is great when every other person in the country can see the bloke is a buffon!

Anyone that thinks Dirk Kuyt can play football for a topside should be sectioned.

Oh and if you count the proper 4 trophies, none of this Europen Super Cup crap, they have both won 2 major honours, the same 2 years (actually Wengers period would be slightly shorter as he did the double in his first full season)

You can keep you Rafa, the silly rotating spaniard.

What myths are they?

we'll wait until someone trots out the next line about how fergie took 7 years to win the league so rafa needs time or how you haven't ever had the budget to compete with us or chelsea and you need the spending power. i'll link back to this thread again then.

I don't particularly love wenger but can't help but respect what he's done, they consistently play good football and are at least competitive. i thought they were going to fade away after last season but he's done some great work.

Which 2 trophies has Wenger won since Rafa arrived?

Arsenal are certainly challenging for the League this year (first serious challenge since Rafa arrived) but its completely meaningless unless you win anything. I doubt 10 years down the road you'll talking about how you came 2nd in the league to Chelsea in 05, where as i'll certainly remember our CL win.

Baz,

What you say to us having a whip around and take the 15/1 on Sunderland to beat us on Saturday and buy the club?

Firstly the talk of Arsenal winning the league without spending big money is bs, since they've stopped spending they've won **** all.

As for needing 7 year to win the league, i don't recall anybody ever saying that. The only time it gets brought up is when Utd fans say Benitez etc should go as they've had 3 seasons and had money to spend and not won the league yet.

I meant both within 2 years of joining their respective clubs :)

So Wenger's success in his first few years has made his job 100% safe despite not winning anything over the last few years but Benitez going a season without a major trophy and he should be sacked?

BTW im not saying Wenger should be sacked, i rate him higher than Fergie, JM or any other manager around, i just think talk of sacking Benitez after 4 years stupid especially when you look at what he's won with us and Valencia.

you rate him higher than fergie and mourinho? was it 5 or 6 posts ago that you said you can play all the pretty football you want but until you win something it's meaningless?
