Good to see such a turn-out, hopefully this will really pick up momentum now. It would be great if something came of it, and from an anthropologist's view -- it's a great social movement.

j/k, from looking at some of the bigger pictures posted so far it looks like there were only 1-2 isolated "meme" signs within a forest of serious ones. I think the longcat etc. ones tend to get posted more because we find them amusing, but I doubt they really attracted the attention of passerbys. I haven't seen any of the serious media coverage of the protests yet, it'll be interesting to see whether they remark on the memes at all or if they focus solely on the message and the serious parts of the demonstrations.

MASSIVE KUDOS TO THE CITY OF SYDNEY for their awesome turnout and the excellent quality of their Hello Kitty t-shirts!:p Seriously, you should be proud for standing up to them.
 
It looks like that from the pictures but i was watching the live feed and it didnt come off well at all and tbh the guy summed it up pretty well when he seemed proud they ended it with a mass fresh prince of bell air sing along

I was at the Mancunian Derby today and missed to protest :(

Looks like a good turnout
 
I am seriously impressed. I thought it might fail, but this is only the start of a very long campaign.... and with that impressive turnout, I think more will tag along for the lulz.

I saw that too, me and my bro were like "smoooth"!

Just watching through the hours of vids of today's protests. Sydney did a fantastic job.

I see this as only the start of raising awareness.... hopefully protests will double with the interest found with these videos. I mean the turn out will encourage everyone to join in.

They had more people there than our national attempt of fuel strikes in recent months lol
