Do you believe in Black Magic?

Do you believe in Black Magic or spells?

Do you think there are people out there, that have the power to put a spell on you for example?

Yes, the Tooth Fairy warned me about them.

Honestly, I can't see how any rational human being in a modern Western environment could possibly believe in black magic. So my answer is a resounding "No".

Well, I once had a relationship with a wannabe Wicca who beleived in the magic arts. We met up with some of her like-minded friends who attempted to ridicule me because of my religion so I told them that I would rethink my beliefs if they could demonstrate 'magic' to me, levitation being the one that they claimed they could achieve.

I put my pint down and asked that they raise it, even an inch, from the table surface. The only time it moved was when I picked it up to have another drink from it. She accused me of ridiculing her friends, I told her to go hunt for fairys at the bottom of her garden and advised that she no longer call me. I was threatened by one of her friends who shouted 'I'll hex you' to which I replied 'smashing, thanks very much'. The idiot actually believed he cursed me and couldn't understand why I wasn't scared. Blooming delusional.

They don't sound like real Wiccans! Most of us don't ridicule other people, and we certainly wouldn't try and prove anything to anyone, and definitely not threaten to hex anyone!!

Maybe your ex and her mates had just watched 'The Craft'?

Black Magic and Evil Voodoo was made up by Christian Missionaries when they were in Africa, to stop people worshiping Voodoo and become Christians. Voodoo is in fact used to heal the sick, not kill people. Which of courses it does not.

Do I believe there may be things that the scientific method cannot investigate and therefore denies. Definitely.

Do we have any real understanding of everything that may be possible? No, we don't.

Does anyone have the sort of abilities this thread is about? Who can say, it's not really worth worrying about either way.
