So I've had the PS3 a couple of days now...............

I don't think it worked for rp and his particular setup, but its known to work with others.

I have been meaning to dig out my manual, as the other guys tests/research shows it will work if your VGA port accepts YpYbYr (or something).

Most monitors accept RGB over VGA. So it sounds like it will work on some telly's, if they support the other standard as well. Hopefully it will work on mine so I can then sell the cable to someone with a similar TV :)

arguing aside are you picking up a set of the triggers for your ps3 pad ?

Even though I was telling someone off here last night that I wasn't going to bother with these triggers as I am more than happy with my DS3, I was in a petrol station today in a rather long queue and noticed the mag on the shelf, so picked it up.

Just fitted them and surprisingly they feel quite good, haven't tried them on a game yet but shall do later.

I can't find any concrete info on the company that "designed" this attachment (giotech). Was just gonna see if I could buy them (can't be more than a couple of quid).

How much is this crappy magazine gonna cost me?

For anyone waiting for them to be released seperately, I just read this.

Did you miss the opportunity to get those nice Playstation 3 Real Trigger button mods in the last magazine special? No fear. I just got an email from the Gioteck group saying they plan on having another special in the upcoming PSM3 98th issue. Get them when you can. She said they have no plans to sell them seperatly, so this may be one of your only chances to get them.

You signify how poor these boards are getting, with inane and trolling responses. If the Six-Axis is 'pap' please tell everyone your reasoning as to say it?

Trolling response? Get real.

If you really want me to regurgitate all the reasons that have already been posted in this thread (as well as others) then I will do so..

Firstly, it feels cheep. Really cheap. Like a mouse that you can pick up for a fiver cheap. Apparently the DS3 has a much sturdier, better quality feel, which will be good but the Sixaxis really feels like a few pieces of cheap plastic poorly put together.

Then of course there's the godawful triggers. People say 'ps1 pads were OK', or 'well nothing's changed since the PS2 pad, and that was OK..', but they seem to fail to realise that neither of these pads had triggers.

A big downer for me personally is the deadzones. They are huge. Apparently this too has been rectified with the DS3, but as it is there are large areas in the middle of the analogue sticks which I find I have to compensate for, particularly when playing FPS games.

If the controller was fine, and the majority were happy with it, then magazines wouldn't be giving away cheap modifications that make the controller more usable.

It's a modified, outdated design that has been (in the case of the Sixaxis) poorly implemented. So yes, 'pap'.

Few, if any consoles have had their controller overhauled and replaced within the first year of release, such as is the case with the Sixaxis, so it can hardly be called a rip-roaring success.
