It wasn't a joke and won't be, I don't care what you guys say I will buy that car as my first and I can't care anymore what some people like you ( and other motor regs) have to say about that, I'll buy whatever I like (and makes me happy) and nobody will stop me, it's not your money and I'm legally allowed to buy whatever car I like. Some of you guys were just too stupid to comprehend that, I live in a free country where I can buy a car I like.

Never mind about that though, I've learned my lesson, most people posting in motor forums are there to be ignored by me, from mondeo fanboys to people that won't allow young 18 year old people to buy a 2.4 litre turbocharged car.
At least some people were nice enough to properly read it and suggest me a nice car.



I just spoilt the ending to portal in this topic. So Yes I played it to the end. It took like an hour lol, Longevity ***!

Id didnt release ETQW or quake 4 lol, Splash damage and revan did respectfully.

AOE3 is the best online rts ever. All the hate came from the naff demo, AOE2 sucked. AOE2+conquers=Teh win.

Yes portal was too short, but it was still superb. I can't understand why you say it failed to be funny as most people laughed their *** off when playing it.

Afaik ID software did release/publish those 2 games, Nerve & raven just devellloped them.

I can't agree with the aoe3 thing, imo AOE2 + CONQ is still best, I didn't hate age of kings either, but indeed conquerors made it a lot better. I tried aoe3 when it was out shortly, and sold it within a week after purchase. I think most people agree with me it's a terrible game.

Then stick with aoe2 whats the problem?

I never played EE, I the box had some guy riding a horse on it ffs, whos going to buy that?!

Aye RTS is dead, SIns of the solar empire is suppose to be good but ive not played it. Im not even sure its an rts LOL.

Dawn of war was the last rts-ish game i played but it felt like it was dumbed down like it was going to be a console or something LOL they milked it too much though. 3 exps :/

AOE2 also had it's great days, it just doesn't do it anymore these days.

EE was ok, shame you didn't play it, the sequels are bad but the original was nice and tough, very fun and lasting to play.

RTS isn't dead imo, but each to it's own, I enjoy supcom, CoH, medieval2 and Sins myself.
Never played Dawn of war.

You say something is dumbed down, didn't you mean aoe3 by that? It didn't even have a historical campaign so much it was dumbed down.

It is, its so simple hardly any thought needs to go in it. They should make DOW2 not more down expansions its lame and its flogging a dead horse. Its like they are just cashing in on the franchise.

Lawl, aoe2s historical campaign was copied out children's history books. very basic stuff. aoe3s was a little more fun. Supcom was lame. too many units that ALL do the same thing lool
 
IMO console gaming will die, PC prices are coming down, console prices are going up, why buy a crappy console when for the same money or less you can buy a PC?

Yeah because doom 3 was such a revelation, also i must say that rehashing the same snore fest deathmatch crap with every game they release really pushes online gaming in the right direction. Id games multplayer = welcome to 1994.

By the way your valve bashing rhetoric is getting amazingly stale.
 
PC gaming isn't dead per say, but I think to fully enjoy a PC gaming experience you need a decent spec PC which some people can't be bothered buying into, especially those that dont really know the technical side of computers. So it's a a lot easier for them to go out and spend £179.99 (the wii) upwards on a games console and just play the games for that cos you know your gonna be able to run it maxed out lol with great graphics.
 
Since when can you buy a decent gaming rig for £300? Your not gonna get a PC for that price that can run games like Oblivion, Crysis, CoD4, Stalker etc maxed out so your better off with a console for that price cos you can get Oblivion/CoD4/UT3 on consoles and not have to worry about system requirements.

PS2 launched for 299, Xbox launched for 299, Gamecube for 130

360 launched for 280, wii for 180, PS3 for 425.


So other than the obvious PS3 rise for HD media, how exactly have they risen? Xbox has gone down and although Nintendo have gone up its still dirt cheap.

I dont think so, Only you people and the people on the steam forums seem to whine about how great valve is and how gaben is a sex god and steams a great idea and portal was innovative and ep2 was more of the same but its okay and tf2 cartoon style graphics are the **** and anything made with sauce is wikid.

Most other forums seem to have a more objective view.

Wow the bs is flowing like water from a tap in this thread. And you're the same person saying id software make great games...this is the company in recent years that are known more for their engines (tech demos) than making good games.

Sorry but i dont think 1994 multiplayer gameplay coupled with an amazingly repetative singleplayer mode makes for engrossing gameplay.

Say doom 3 to someone, they know it. say id tech 4, they wont. People know and love ids games. MOst people dont give a **** about the engine.

Doom 3 was a great game, it's just not what people were expecting. The single player was excellent, the gaphics were top. The flash like was a mechanic. It didnt screw around with vehicles. It was almost bliss.

As opposed to doom 3 which because of its lighting had levels that looked very similar untill much later in the game. Textures that were used everwhere and next to no physics whatsoever.

oh and we'll ignore the fact that half life gave you different environments and styles of gameplay. With doom 3 it was walk into room, hit trigger kill zombies in front of you then swing round to the monster closet to shoot the zombie coming out behind you...rinse and repeat for the rest of the game. And those 2 environments doom 3 gave you going from dark corridors to hell and ..well that was it. amazing. :eek:

Screaming physics is pretty laughable considering doom 3 expansion slapped in a physics manipulator, but clearly that had nothing to do with half life 2 at all. *cough*

Agreed, to me doom 3 was almost the same as doom 1 and 2 and using the same tricks as 1 and 2 by the way i loved them (doom1 and 2 not so much 3 but 3 had great atmosphere) but times have moved on
