Its pretty certain that its the bottom end that has had some kind of failure now, its certainly nothing to do with the top end, the cambelt, the cam chain, or the valves, or the gearbox.

Last ditch attempt at a simple repair is see if vag-com has locked the engine down and thus needs a reset, but the chances are slim to none![]()

I believe adam said on the final lap that el said "ive never found myself egging the car on for more power before" perhaps that was just the track environment though I think, having the space to give the car everything its got!
That was just a general comment about the car and the fact that it didn't have enough of an edge over the slower cars to pull decent amounts away down the straights. I felt that from the first few laps of the day, not just in the session it died.
It was more me wishing it had an extra 100bhp rather than it feeling "down" on its usual power.

Ah ok, i misunderstood adams words then, my bad.
I'd be absolutely gutted if it happened to me, but do you think that hard driving on the track may have caused it, or could it have happened on the road? I don't know if I could forgive myself for killing my daily driver on a track![]()

Higher corner exit speeds would have had a far greater effect than 100bhp.
