Probably been a few threads about this by now, but I downloaded it at work through their MSDN account today for Vista 64...and what a difference!

Everything just feels loads quicker, just in general use.

File copying is 10x better than before. Not tried any network transfers but will in the coming days.

Whats other peoples views on this?

Installed it on my laptop during lunch and to be quite honest, i couldn't see much difference

I find it's not as stable or quick as the first Release Candidate for it was. I have no idea why, or if it's just that my habits have changed, but things sometimes take longer to load and programs seem to crash more.

If your overclocked & not stable then things will get worse as time goes on.

File copying is probably the best it has ever been in Windows now

Apart from that not really noticed much difference elsewhere. I suppose things are a tiny tiny tiny bit snappier but to be honest on a Conroe with 4GB of RAM it's hard to notice.

Can't say I've noticed much difference either other than file copying speed, as mentioned above, and Internet Explorer crashing whenever I close Windows Live Messenger.

Biggest difference for me is the file copying, it's made a world of difference, it is super-quick now

Other than that the whole thing just feels a little snappier and smoother.

I don't have an MSDN account, is there anyway I can download it and save it to a disk to install on home pc? Also, where can I get it from??

Many thanks! :D

softpedia & majorgeeks will have it online before long i reckon

they'll get ultra raped though, probably too scared to up it now :) (bandwitdh raped)

I think people saying they haven't noticed any difference haven't given the pc time to settle back down again. The OS will delete all of its superfetch info and have to gather it again. Ive personally found that my machine is running a lot faster and file transfers are totally painless now :)

anyone know what an msdn number is, when i go to make my account with microsoft i need to put one in but have no idea what it is, thanks in advance.

Don't know if this is the after effects of installing SP1, but my hard drive doesn't seem as 'active' as it was pre SP1.

The decrease in file transfer and copying times have done it for me.

Superfetch seems more snappy, I haven't noticed any other changes.
