Fair price for a 02 e46 m3?

Housemaster why do you think there are only 2 makes of tyres that you can fit to the rear? loads of co's make tyres in that fitment?

Well it may have changed now, but when I had mine there were only the 2 makes outlined above that made 19" tyres in the exact size with the correct rating.

It's worth calling around for the servicing. Last time I had the biggy, the price differed by an incredible 50% between 3 BMW dealers within an hour of me.

Deffo. Anything between £649 all-in, and £1300, for the Inspection II. I thought I'd got a good deal at around £900 until I saw information on mtorque (I'd somehow missed) that £650 was what Cotswolds were charging.

Yup, Cotswold charge £525 for an inspection I and £650 for an inspection II.

Note.

Remember, genuine cars need genuine care and parts for genuine performance. Costs are inclusive of labour, parts, oil and VAT and are valid until 31/12/07.

Hey Niall - totally OT, but what did you get for your 530i? Interested to know what the market is like ;)

Email me if you don't wanna post here - ta man :D

I've been watching the E46 M3 with interest as I dismissed one when I bought the R32. JESUS CHRIST, these things depreciate.

I was looking to spend 22k ish on a 52 14 months ago and similar cars are listed on pistonheads for 15-16k :O Ok, its 14 months older and the E90 has arrived but thats about 33%. Are they reaching a bottom?

I'd be tempted by a CSL as residuals are better but Id be weary of financing an M3.

If you got the cash then you take your choice.

...yeah, but CSL command a much higher figure than this one, even though they're only one year younger (being all 2003 cars).

I always wonder why convention dictates we calculate depreciation as a percentage.

50% is indeed very good - but its lost £30k. Had you spent £40k on a regular M3 and 3 years later it was worth only £10k you'd be properly miffed - 75% depreciation! Awful!

Yet in reality the loss is identical...
