9800 GT is rebadged 8800 GT, just has extra SLi conector for Tri.

im still waiting to see if they actually pull out the G90 core this time. G92 has been used too much now.
a G80 GTX with a die shrink to 65nm with the extra texture mapping units of the G9* gpus would make well for a 9800gtx.

but i wonder if they will ever let it loose?

8800 ultra for another few more months for me then :( really fancied an upgraded nvidia, was expecting something big. Maybe they will pull something out of the bag :(

pathetic.

also i thought only 1 connector was needed for tri sli? i saw a vid of tri sli on youtube where the guy just uses one thing which goes over the connectors of all 3 cards.

rofl, spoilt or what? Just be happy with what hardware you got...

I was just making a comment on a product that for all intents and purposes was looking to be the next big thing.

I am sorry that I am an adult who just happens to work damn hard for good money and can afford to spend it on what I like. I am also sorry you were not blessed with the intelligence to do anything more so than blurt out the first thing that comes out of your head, and the fact that you happen to have a chip on your shoulder against posters who you think are kids who live off mummy and daddy is even more pathetic.

Everyone keeps battering nvidia about not releasing new top end hardware or new generation of chips, what about ATI? They've only just managed to release a card that properly challenges the GTX/Ultra and thats based on a shrink of tech they had out ages ago, not new tech. You can't blame NV really for pushing what they already have when they have no competition or incentive to get the new stuff out the door. I'm not saying that i agree with the delay, we all want great new hardware, but you can see where they're coming from.

Besides, this will hopefully mean that when a new card comes along its been well developed and should be a stonker!

Nvidia never were the underdogs though.

Makes no difference if you're the underdog or not. They both develope their own tech and ATI now have AMD's manufacturing and resources at their disposal. How long was the 2900 delayed? Ages. What was ATI's answer to NV's top card? A die shrink and 2 cores. I'm sure they could have put the effort needed into releasing their X2 card into their new core and pushed NV. Competition drives this market, if you don't have competition then why change a formula that works?
